Sportsnet Hits the Big Easy for Coverage of Super Bowl XLVII

Sportsnet is going the whole nine yards with a full week of Super Bowl XLVII coverage, tackling the action from New Orleans on Sportsnet’s diverse multiplatform offerings on TV, radio, in print and online, including broadcasting the game live on Sportsnet 960 The FAN at 4:30 p.m. MT on Sunday, Feb. 3.

Coverage continues tonight at 6 p.m. local time on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific as Connected broadcasts live from the banks of the Mississippi River. Host Ken Reid will be joined by award-winning journalist Stephen Brunt and NFL analystSteve Tasker to bring fans the latest news and highlights leading up to the Big Game. Sportsnet reporter Craig MacEwen will also file daily reports and features from New Orleans.

 

All week long, Sportsnet provides all-access, multiplatform coverage of Super Bowl XLVII, ensuring fans are never far from the breaking news and updates. Below are the key highlights from Sportsnet’s TV, digital, radio and print platforms:

· Connected to broadcast live from New Orleans, January 29-Feburary 1 at 6 p.m. local time on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West, and Pacific. Over the course of the week, Connected will broadcast the following features, as told by Brunt:

  • o The Isidore Newman High School story: Looking at New Orleans’ first family of football – The Mannings – and the prestigious high school they came from
  • o The Carver High School story: The story of Carver High School’s destruction from Hurricane Katrina and their attempts to bring hope and pride back to the Ninth Ward
  • Connected in New Orleans Preview Special premieres Thursday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Sportsnet ONE. Host Reid is joined by Tasker and Brunt for the one-hour  jam-packed show from New Orleans, featuring:
  • o A retrospective look at Baltimore Ravens Ray Lewis’ career as he heads toward retirement
  • o A profile of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who after starting in only nine regular season games is appearing in his first Super Bowl
  • o Brunt debuts his much-anticipated new video essay, looking back at his experience at 1986’s Super Bowl XX in New Orleans – the first NFL championship he attended. The essay features the music of the Crescent City

sportsnet.ca is the NFL fan’s 24/7 news resource for features, expert picks, and interactive discussion leading up to and following Sunday’s game. Features include:
