The world’s best curlers look to once again take centre stage as Sportsnet today announces its plans to host Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling events – the Princess Auto Players’ Championship and Humpty’s Champions Cup – in 2021. To ensure the health and safety of all involved, Sportsnet has partnered with Curling Canada to explore hosting both Grand Slam events within a hub city at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park in Calgary.
With provisional approval from Alberta Health and pending Federal government approval, the curling hub city approach will give curlers from around the globe the opportunity to continue their season within a safe and secure environment. Conditional on complete government approval, these proposed events will adhere to strict health guidelines to prioritize the safety of players, staff and all involved.

In keeping with hub city health protocols, the Princess Auto Players’ Championship and Humpty’s Champions Cup events would be closed to the general public to ensure the safety of players and employees. Live end-to-end coverage of the proposed premier curling events will be available to Canadian fans exclusively on Sportsnet and via live stream on SN NOW.
Over the coming months, local event organizers will continue to work with the Public Health Agency of Canada to finalize event plans and health protocols. Confirmed event dates, competition format, prize money and broadcast details will be announced at a later date.
