Rogers Sportsnet sets the table for UFC 114 with exclusive HD broadcasts of the preliminary fights on Saturday, May 29 at 9 pm (ET)/6 pm (PT) on Sportsnet East, Sportsnet East HD, Sportsnet Ontario and Sportsnet Ontario HD.
UFC 114 will feature five former Ultimate Fighter season winners including “Suga” Rashad Evans, Michael “The Count” Bisping, Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez, Amir Sadollah and Efrain “Hecho en Mexico” Escudero. The highlight of the main card will be Evans, the Ultimate Fighter 2 winner, versus Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. It will be Jackson’s first appearance in the octagon in over 14 months as he took time off to concentrate on his film career. The winner of this Light Heavyweight battle will be given a title shot versus newly-crowned champion Mauricio Rua.
The preliminary fights will include a welterweight tilt between as Ultimate Fighter 7 winner Amir Sadollah and Dong Hyun “Stun Gun” Kim. Kim, the first Korean-born UFC fighter, has an undefeated professional record of 12-0 while Sadollah sits at 3-1. There will also be a lightweight bout between Ultimate Fighter 8 winner Efrain Escudero and Dan “The Upgrade” Lauzon. Both fighters are coming off losses in January 2010. Lauzon lost in a first-round submission to Cole Miller at UFC 108, while Escudero was defeated by Evan Dunham at Fight Night 20.
Sportsnet Connected will also provide coverage leading up to UFC 114 with nightly reports during the evening and prime editions starting on Wednesday, May 26.
