TELETOON at Night, TELETOON’s post-9 p.m. programming block, is inviting viewers to become cartoonists on teletoonatnight.com where they can design their very own comic strips. Using Bitstrips, an online comic-creating tool, users can build their own original, interactive cartoon avatars and use these avatars to participate in TELETOON at Night’s Weekly Comic Challenge – a weekly comic strip featuring Fred Kennedy, host of “Fred at Night,” TELETOON’s Sunday night post-9 p.m. programming block.
The Bitstrips Avatar Builder offers moveable and sizeable physical attributes for endless variety, custom facial features and an expandable wardrobe and accessories. Avatars can then be saved online to use in each of teletoonatnight.com’s Weekly Comic Challenges where comic enthusiasts can expect to take a walk on the beach, flip burgers in a greasy-spoon diner or even fight ninjas. Here, fans will be asked to write the actual script featuring their avatar with Fred Kennedy. The resulting comics will be displayed on the online gallery at teletoonatnight.com, with share functions for Twitter and Facebook.
TELETOON at Night is a special programming block on TELETOON for older teens and adult audiences who have an appetite for smart and culturally topical comedy shows.
