Teletoon Unveils Teletoon at Night’s Fall 2010 Programming Highlights

TELETOON at Night, the network’s post-9 p.m. block, boasts a programming slate for young adults looking for a smart and irreverent comedy fix. This fall, the block features two new hilarious series The Dating Guy and Archer along with the unpredictable comedy of the TELETOON At Night Pilot Project and new episodes of the celebrated sketch comedy series Robot Chicken.

ACQUISITIONS

New and Returning Series:

ARCHER
Premieres October 2010 at 11 p.m. ET/PT
Network Premiere • 10 x 30 min
Archer is the story of suave master spy Sterling Archer, who deals with global crises along with a slew of personal issues, including an overbearing mother/boss and a career-fixated ex-girlfriend. Boasting the less-than-masculine code name of “Duchess”, Archer works at an international spy agency with other highly-trained employees who aim to confuse, undermine, betray and royally screw each other.

AMERICAN DAD
New episodes continue to premiere Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT
Season 5 • 18 x 30 min
Co-created by Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy), this subversive animated series revolves around Stan Smith, a CIA agent who is an undisputed weapons expert and a proud family man. Stan is constantly on the alert for terrorist activity and will go to hilarious extremes to protect his beloved America and keep his homeland secure.

ROBOT CHICKEN
Premieres November 2010 on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT
Network Premiere • 20 x 30 min
Old-school stop-motion animation and fast-paced satire are the hallmarks of this eclectic show created by Seth Green and Matt Senreich. Action figures find new life as players in frenetic sketch-comedy vignettes that skewer TV, movies, music and celebrity.

Continuing Series:

FUTURAMA
Weekdays at 9 p.m. & 9:30 p.m. ET/PT
Sundays at 9 p.m., 9:30 p.m. & 12 a.m. ET/PT
Fry is a young misguided Everyman whose 20th century life delivering pizzas has failed to meet his ambitions. When he finds himself accidentally transported 1,000 years in the future, he discovers a crazy new life where things are still laughable no matter how wild they get.

KING OF THE HILL
Weekdays at 11:30 p.m. & 12 a.m. ET/PT
Hank Hill is an old-fashion Texan who enjoys the finer things in life: beer, propane, and propane accessories. Along with his opinionated wife, wimpy son and eccentric loser friends, Hank spends his time pondering the idiosyncrasies of his day-to-day redneck suburban life.

Special Presentation:

ROBOT CHICKEN: STAR WARS
Premieres Sunday, September 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT
Robot Chicken: Star Wars is a force-filled, hour-long special that takes an irreverent yet affectionate look at the Star Wars universe and its cult following. This special Robot Chicken presentation travels to a galaxy far, far away to present some of the most memorable Star Wars characters in ironic and sometimes surreal situations.

ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING

THE DATING GUY
Premieres October 2010 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT
World Premiere • 26 x 30 min
The Dating Guy is a cocktail of dating, sex and friendship. Following four 20-something friends, Mark, Woody, Sam and VJ, the series exposes their romantic, working and every day struggles as they attempt to find love or some kind of “happy ending”. From the ins and outs of dating a werewolf to the subtleties of seducing a virgin porn star, the series gives a no-holds-barred eclectic and comical view to the world of dating.

TELETOON AT NIGHT PILOT PROJECT
Premieres October 2010 at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT
Network Premiere • 9 x 30 min
From an amnesiac Rasta and neurotic talking stick figures to a New York mafioso hiding out in suburbia, TELETOON At Night Pilot Project features the top ten pilots from over 200 submissions created through the TELETOON At Night Pilot Project. Straddling a wide range of topics, animation styles and comedy sensibilities, each half hour is a hilarious tale. Pilot projects include:

ANGORA NAPKIN
A unique musical bubble-gum pop trio, Angora Napkin is a band unlike any other. Composed of three sexy girls, Beatrice, Molly and Mallory, their impromptu peppy songs attract trouble along with the macabre.

CELEBUTARD NATION
The scandalous exploits of four over-exposed 20-something celebrities are placed in the undeserved spotlight as they stumble headfirst into the pitfalls of unwarranted fame and unearned fortune.

CHINATOWN COPS
Sexy, sensitive super cops of the Chinatown beat must investigate a crime wave which has hit Chinatown and enshrouded everything from the mom and pop laundromat to the giant dim sum restaurant in a dangerous veil of crime and corruption.

DROP DEAD GORGEOUS
An anime-inspired, fast-paced morality tale with a bloody, absurdist twist: four luscious, sex-hungry, fashion-gorged college girls moonlight as an elite troop of hired assassins.

DUNCE BUCKET
Canadian comedy geniuses Lori Elliot, Terry McGurrin, Christian Potenza, Adam Reid and Renee Percy join forces to create some of animation’s most memorable and insanely funny characters in this sketch comedy show.

FUGGET ABOUT IT
Powerful New York under-boss Jimmy Falcone and his family try, unsuccessfully, to fit in the suburban life in the witness protection program in sleepy Oakville, Ontario.

NERDLAND
Nerdland follows the misanthropic adventures of a group of obsessive nerds as they try to achieve pwnage and survive in a decidedly nerd-unfriendly society.

NINJAMAICA
An amnesiac Rasta with extraordinary fighting powers and an insatiable appetite sets out to rebuild his memory and reclaim his life, all while dodging bullets from his many enemies and possibly making time for a Twinkie.

SPACE KNIGHTS
In a parody of late ‘90s super hero cartoons, a group of slightly outdated superheroes use transforming Honda Accords and other powers to stop a never-ending stream of bizarre creatures and insane villains.
