Friday’s historic Game 7 victory by the Philadelphia Flyers over the Boston Bruins was watched by an average audience of 2.1 million viewers on TSN according to overnight data from BBM Canada. Audience levels peaked at 3.95 million viewers in the final minutes of the third period as Philadelphia scored in their fourth goal in the third period to complete the remarkable series comeback.
TSN’s audience for the game was the highest audience ever recorded for an NHL game on TSN not involving a Canadian team. It was also the most-watched program on Canadian television on Friday in all key advertising demographics.
Overall, TSN’s coverage of the second round of the 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs attracted an average audience of 1.1 million viewers – 61% higher than the Round Two average audiences recorded on TSN in 2009 (681,000). *
