#ChampionshipRelived: TSN Invites Canadians to a National Watch Party to Celebrate the Toronto Raptors’ NBA Title Win, April 12

As Canadians stay home to do their part to slow the spread of COVID-19, TSN invites fans across the country to unite by reliving the magic of the Toronto Raptors’ unforgettable NBA championship win. Canada’s Sports Leader is throwing a national watch party, #ChampionshipRelived, to celebrate the re-broadcast of the Raptors’ title-clinching game, Game 6 of the 2019 NBA FINALS, airing this Sunday, April 12 at 8 p.m. ET on TSN.

The special broadcast relives the Raptors’ Game 6 win over the Golden State Warriors, including the post-game trophy presentation. Fans are invited to share their Raptors memories, photos, videos, and home viewing party set-ups with TSN across social media using the hashtag #ChampionshipRelived.

The action gets underway with a special Instagram Live pre-show at 7:30 p.m. ET on TSN’s official Instagram account, hosted by BarDown’s Daniel Zakrzewski alongside TSN Raptors reporters Kate Beirness, Josh Lewenberg, and basketball analyst Kia Nurse.

Immediately following the game, TSN delivers a special post-game edition of SC WITH JAY AND DAN PRESENTED BY MCDONALD’S, reliving all the excitement and post-game reaction that took place after the team’s title win.

“Last spring, we witnessed a jubilant celebration of sport in communities across the country as Canadians cheered on the Toronto Raptors,” said Stewart Johnston, President, Media Sales and Marketing, Bell Media, and President of TSN. “With this national watch party, we’re aiming to channel that same excitement, rallying Canadian sports fans to come together while staying at home, and reliving the magic of the Raptors’ phenomenal championship run.”

The national Raptors watch party is the culmination of TSN’s Champions Live Here Weekend, in which Canada’s Sports Leader showcases 30+ iconic championship games from around the world of sports across the weekend of April 11-12.

TSN.ca sets up the special broadcast with pre-game analysis featuring TSN’s Raptors broadcast team including host Rod Black, analysts Jack Armstrong, Nurse, and Leo Rautins, and Beirness and Lewenberg. TSN.ca also features a video essay on Game 6 voiced by Lewenberg.

On Friday, April 10, SPORTSCENTRE host Rod Smith welcomes Raptors star Pascal Siakam for a special interview reflecting on his memories of the 2019 NBA FINALS.

The #ChampionshipRelived watch party is also available to TSN and TSN Direct subscribers through the network’s streaming platforms available at TSN.ca and the TSN app.
