Jennifer Jones Leads Team Canada at the 2010 FORD WORLD WOMEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP, Beginning March 20 on TSN

Three-time defending Canadian champion Jennifer Jones and her team from the St. Vital Curling Club in Winnipeg look to use home ice to their advantage and regain the title at the 2010 FORD WORLD WOMEN’S CULRING CHAMPIONSHIP in Swift Current, SK, live on TSN from March 20-28. TSN’s exclusive live coverage includes all of Team Canada’s games as well as Page Playoffs, the Semifinal and Final. Coverage begins Saturday, March 20 at 9 p.m. ET as Canada takes on Sweden.

In addition to live coverage on TSN, every Team Canada game from this year’s FORD WORLD WOMEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP will be available on-demand at TSN.ca following the conclusion of each live television broadcast.

Jones is looking to lead Team Canada to a second World Championship title after having won in 2008 in Vernon, BC. Team Canada will be in tough, however, with competition from six teams fresh off their performances at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games including five returning from last year’s WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

Reigning World champion Bingyu Wang of China looks to improve on her team’s bronze medal performance in Vancouver last month while Denmark’s Madeleine Dupont hopes to build on a third place finish at last year’s WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP and fifth place at the 2010 Winter Games. Rounding out the field for this year’s event are reigning European champion Andrea Schöpp of Germany, 2009 World Junior champion Eve Muirhead of Scotland, Moe Meguro of Japan, Iveta Stasa-Sarsune of Latvia, Linn Githmark of Norway, Ludmila Privivkova of Russia, Cecilia Östlund of Sweden, Binia Feltscher-Beeli of Switzerland and Erika Brown of the USA.

TSN’s acclaimed curling broadcast team is on hand in Swift Current with Vic Rauter calling the action alongside analyst and Olympic gold medallist Linda Moore and analyst and former Brier champion Ray Turnbull. The trio is the most recognized and respected curling broadcast team in sports television.

TSN’s exclusive curling coverage continues in 2010 with the CAPITAL ONE WORLD MEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP on April 10 and 11.
