The NHL continues to score with record audiences on TSN this season. With 71 games in the 2009-10 season featuring Canadian teams, TSN averaged 714,000 viewers according to data from BBM Canada – the highest average audience ever recorded for regular season NHL regular games on TSN*.
Last year’s season average audience for NHL games on TSN featuring Canadian teams was 479,000.

During the 2009-10 season, TSN, along with TSN2, gave sports fans more NHL coverage than ever before with a total of 126 regular season games.
Throughout the regular season, TSN’s team of broadcasters, analysts and Hockey Insiders delivered in-depth NHL coverage on multiple programs including SPORTSCENTRE, THAT’S HOCKEY, OFF THE RECORD WITH MICHAEL LANDSBERG and TSN THE REPORTERS WITH DAVE HODGE. Online, TSN.ca once again proved to be the ultimate hockey destination for NHL fans with extensive, up-to-the minute hockey news, NHL games on-demand, blogs, stats and scores along with special insight from TSN’s panel of hockey experts. TSN also delivered NHL news to fans on the go with TSN MOBILE and TSN Text Alerts.
Hockey fans continued to turn to TSN and its team of experts for up-to-the-minute hockey news. TSN’s annual NHL Trade Deadline special TRADECENTRE 2010 attracted more viewers for its deadline programming than all other Canadian sports networks combined.
TSN’s NHL coverage continues throughout the first three rounds of the 2010 STANLEY CUP® PLAYOFFS highlighted by coverage of the Montreal/Washington series. TSN’s Playoffs coverage gets underway on Wednesday, April 14 – opening night of the NHL Playoffs – with Philadelphia @ New Jersey at 7:30 p.m. ET followed by Detroit @ Phoenix at 10 p.m. ET.
