Taylor or Tyler? TSN Has Live Prime-Time Coverage of the 2010 NHL ENTRY DRAFT, June 25

One of the NHL’s most intriguing debates finally comes to an end next Friday as Edmonton Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini selects Taylor Hall or Tyler Seguin first overall at the 2010 NHL ENTRY DRAFT, live and in prime-time on TSN. Coverage begins on Friday, June 25 at 7 p.m. ET on TSN and continues through to the end of the First Round.

TSN’s live coverage of the 2010 NHL ENTRY DRAFT is also being simulcast on VERSUS in the U.S., and is available live and on-demand at TSN.ca. Fans can follow the DRAFT on TSN Mobile, and get live streaming coverage of the First Round on TSN’s app for iPhone.

James Duthie hosts TSN’s coverage directly from the DRAFT stage at Staples Centre in Los Angeles, interviewing GMs and players following their selections. Duthie is joined by TSN’s Draft Panel. Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, analyst Pierre McGuire and commentator Gord Miller tee up each selection and deliver instant analysis.

SPORTSCENTRE is also on location in Los Angeles and around the NHL, delivering all the latest news on the DRAFT and potential trades leading up to the 2010 NHL ENTRY DRAFT, with reports from John Lu and Brent Wallace in L.A., insight and analysis from TSN’s hockey experts, and interviews with draft-eligible players and NHL general managers.

NHL Entry Draft Week on TSN
Kicking off TSN’s comprehensive coverage of the 2010 NHL ENTRY DRAFT is BOB MCKENZIE’S NHL DRAFT RANKING SPECIAL live on Monday, June 21 at 7 p.m. ET. The 30-minute original TSN production has Hockey Insider and draft expert McKenzie ranking the consensus Top 30 candidates, representing the DRAFT’s most likely First Round choices. McKenzie is joined in the TSN studio by NHL ON TSN host James Duthie.

TSN also sets the stage for the DRAFT with the NHL DRAFT COUNTDOWN SPECIAL on Thursday, June 24 at 7 p.m. ET, live from Los Angeles. Hosted by James Duthie, the two-hour program includes the final word on the “Taylor vs. Tyler” debate from the NHL ON TSN panel featuring Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, analyst Pierre McGuire and commentator Gord Miller. Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reports on the latest draft news and trade speculation, while McGuire and former NHL general manager Craig Button project the Top 30 selections in the NHL ON TSN Mock Draft. Button also looks back at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and “re-drafts” the Top 30 picks based on one more year’s worth of player development. The question is: Who would be #1 if the big three of John Tavares, Victor Hedman and Matt Duchene were available one year later?

The NHL DRAFT COUNTDOWN SPECIAL also includes features on Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin, a look a the history of hockey on film, and an up-close look at the L.A. hockey experience with draft prospect Emerson Etem from Long Beach, CA.

Hosted by Brian Duff, the NHL Network production includes interviews with prospects and NHL executives, along with insight from analyst Mike Johnson.
