The world’s #1-ranked player Luke Donald headlines an impressive field of golfers at the RBC CANADIAN OPEN, live on TSN this Thursday and Friday. Live coverage of the first two rounds from the Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver airs on July 21 and July 22 beginning at 3 p.m. ET each day on TSN and on TSN MOBILE TV.
The Canadian contingent is led by fan favourites Stephen Ames and Mike Weir, as well as fellow PGA TOUR players Chris Baryla, David Hearn and Matt McQuillan (see below for a complete list of Canadians in the tournament). This year’s RBC CANADIAN OPEN field also boasts Ernie Els, Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk, Anthony Kim, Louis Oosthuizen and Masters champion Charl Schwartzel. Defending champion Carl Pettersson returns to the tournament while Jose Maria Olazabal, European captain for the 2012 Ryder Cup, makes his event debut.
SPORTSCENTRE will have daily reports and highlights all week from resident golf expert Bob Weeks. On top of highlights, special features, and up-to-the minute news, TSN.ca will have a Canadian tracker that follows the progress of all the Canucks competing at the RBC CANADIAN OPEN.
First played in 1904, the RBC CANADIAN OPEN is the second oldest PGA TOUR event and the third-oldest national championship behind the OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP and U.S. OPEN, respectively.
