TSN and EA SPORTS Team Up for Second-Annual EA SPORTS NHL Cover Vote for NHL 14

TSN and the award-winning sports video game developer Electronic Arts Inc. have once again teamed up exclusively to raise awareness and fan participation for the second-annual EA SPORTS NHL Cover Vote – where fans are given the chance to decide which NHL player will appear on the front cover of the game, NHL 14. The official voting for this year’s NHL 14Cover Vote resides on NHL.com/CoverVote.As part of the partnership, TSN’s slate of hockey news programs includingTHAT’S HOCKEYTHAT’S HOCKEY 2NITE, and NHL ON TSN will integrateNHL 14 Cover Vote content through to the completion of the voting in June. Original branded content on TSN platforms includes updates on voting from TSN’s hockey hosts and experts.

The NHL 14 Cover Vote will also be promoted prominently on TSN’s official accounts on Facebook and on Twitter using the hashtag #NHL14CoverVote.

“We’re extremely excited to be able to bring the EA SPORTS NHL Cover Votecampaign back to TSN,” said David Le, Marketing Director, EA SPORTS. “It was a great partnership last year, and we’re excited to once again be working with the recognized leader in Canadian sports broadcasting.”

“TSN is very excited to be continuing our exclusive partnership with EA SPORTS for the promotion of the NHL 14 Cover Vote,” said Nathalie Cook, Vice-President, Integrated Marketing and Partnerships, TSN. “We look forward to building on the success of last year’s campaign and engaging fans and NHL players alike across all of our platforms, at a time when hockey is making headlines across the country.”

The NHL 14 Cover Vote began with 60 NHL players and pitted teammate against teammate for the opportunity to represent their team on the ballot. The top vote-getter for each team (30 in total), plus two wild-card players, advanced to Round 2, which kicked off on April 29 and ended on May 5. The 16 players advancing to Round 3 will then compete in a Stanley Cup Playoffs-inspired single-elimination bracket from May 6-June 2.

Fans can visit NHL.com/CoverVote to participate in the NHL 14 Cover Vote and vote for their favourite player. Voting throughout the NHL 14 Cover Vote is unlimited.

In its inaugural year, the EA SPORTS NHL 13 Cover Vote campaign generated more than 25 million fan votes, culminating with Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux landing on the NHL 13 cover.
