TSN and Kraft Heinz Project Play Deliver a Live Edition of SPORTSCENTRE from Belleville, Ont., June 15

In partnership with Kraft Heinz Project Play, TSN today announced a live, on-location edition of its flagship sports news program SPORTSCENTRE. Hosted by Darren Dutchyshen and Jennifer Hedger, the broadcast airs Saturday, June 15 at 6 p.m. ET on TSN, live from the winning community of the 2018 Kraft Heinz Project Play, Belleville, Ont.

Kraft Heinz Project Play helps build better places to play by annually awarding a Canadian community with funding to improve a local recreational facility. On October 28, 2018, after a nation-wide vote, Belleville was awarded the grand prize of $250,000 to construct an accessible baseball field in their community. Known as the Field of Ability, this project represents Belleville’s commitment to positive inclusivity and equal opportunities in sport and promotes physical activity for children and adults in the community who require mobility devices.

“We are incredibly excited to connect and celebrate with the local community as we bring this very special edition of SPORTSCENTRE to Belleville,” said Stewart Johnston, President, Media Sales and Marketing, Bell Media and President, TSN. “Our partnership with Kraft Heinz & Kraft Heinz Project Play allows us to encourage active living and build sport in Canadian communities, and we are proud to incorporate SPORTSCENTRE into this mission.”

The live SPORTSCENTRE broadcast is preceded by a community barbeque at West Zwick’s Island Park in Belleville, beginning at 3 p.m. ET. In addition to a variety of family friendly activities, the barbeque will include a live TSN viewing party, as the Canadian Women’s National Team takes on New Zealand in the FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP FRANCE 2019™ live on TSN.

“Throughout the entire Kraft Heinz Project Play 2018 program, Belleville really came together in an effort to see the Field of Ability become a reality,” said Linda Ferrandini, Senior Brand Manager, Kraft Heinz. “We’re thrilled we get to celebrate alongside the community and honour this exciting accomplishment.”

Beginning Monday, Aug. 5, Canadians can share their community stories and rally behind the places, spaces and projects that keep them playing for 2019 Kraft Heinz Project Play. One grand prize-winning community will receive $250,000 towards their proposed community project, and the three second prize-winners will each receive $25,000.
