TSN has live coverage all weekend as Montreal says “Bienvenue!” to Formula 1 racing and the CANADIAN GRAND PRIX for the first time since 2008. TSN’s exclusive live coverage includes qualifying on Saturday (June 12) at 12:55 p.m. ET (3 p.m. ET on TSN2) followed by the race on Sunday (June 13) at 11:55 a.m. ET (4 p.m. ET on TSN2). After having been left off of the Formula 1 schedule in 2009, the CANADIAN GRAND PRIX makes its return to the famous Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Montreal’s île Notre-Dame.
TSN’s Michael Whalen is in Montreal filing reports for SPORTSCENTRE leading up to and following the race on Sunday afternoon. SPORTSCENTRE will also provide highlights and post-race reactions from this weekend’s action.
RBR-Renault’s Mark Webber comes into this weekend’s race with a five point lead in the driver standings over McLaren-Mercedes’ Jenson Button. Webber has finished in the points in each of the first seven races of the season including a red-hot May in which he won back-to-back races in Spain and Monaco and followed up with a third-place finish in Turkey. Webber looks to continue his points streak this weekend but will have to contend with a strong field that includes his teammate Sebastian Vettel, Button, defending champion Robert Kubica, 2007 winner Lewis Hamilton coming off of his first win of the year in Turkey, as well as seven-time CANADIAN GRAND PRIX winner Michael Schumacher.
