This September, Corus Entertainment’s YTV welcomes Life with Boys, a new live-action comedy, to its Friday night lineup. Produced by Nelvana Studio, Life with Boys stars Torri Webster as 14 year-old Tess Foster, the only girl in a house full of boys. With the help of her best friend Allie, played by Madison Pettis (Phineas and Ferb, Cory in the House), Tess must navigate her way through the turmoil of teen life, including dealing with her overprotective dad and her overzealous, bathroom-monopolizing brothers! Life with Boys premieres Friday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m.
“We are so proud of Life with Boys and thrilled to bring this hilarious new show to our YTV audience,” said Jocelyn Hamilton, Vice President, Original Programming, Kids, Comedy, Drama, Corus Television. “The show joins an incredibly strong lineup of live-action series like iCarly, Mr. Young, Victorious and How To Be Indie and we are certain that viewers, young and old, will identify with these characters and laugh along with the trials and tribulations of living a life with boys.”
Life With Boys is created by and executive produced by Michael Poryes, the creator and executive producer of hit series like Hannah Montana and That’s So Raven.
“Life with Boys is exactly the series I wanted to do after Hannah Montana because it is simply about the fun and truth of the characters and their relationships,” said Michael Poryes. “The tween audience is incredibly smart and are ready for a show that doesn’t rely on a big gimmick. Nelvana Studio, YTV and Corus recognized that and had the courage to just go for it! Working with them and producing this show in Canada has been a true joy.”
In Episode 1, premiering on Friday, September 9 at 6:30 p.m., Tess realizes that, having spent her life “wrestling” with three brothers, she has picked up more than a few skills that would make her perfect for the wrestling team her father, Jack, coaches. Despite his hesitation, Jack is thrilled to discover she puts all the boys on his team to shame and could very well lead them to victory. However, Tess soon discovers that boys hate losing to girls… especially ones that let them win.
