This September, MuchMusic gets schooled on homegrown talent when INTIMATE AND INTERACTIVE returns with two, all-new specials featuring multiplatinum superstar Tate McRae, and social media sensation Johnny Orlando, exclusively on @much.
Kicking things off with Tate McRae on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. ET, the Calgary-born viral music and dance sensation sits down with VJ Georgia Kolev for a feature interview and performance of her #1 multiplatinum-selling single, “you broke me first” and platinum hit, “she’s all i wanna be.” Then, on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. ET, fresh off the release of his most recent album, all the things that could go wrong, award-winning singer-songwriter Orlando chops it up with MuchMusic’s Teddy Tong and delivers an acoustic set of two new songs, ”someone will love you better” and “coping (1621).”
Both specials were shot in front of a live audience at MuchMusic’s all-new Queen St. W studio.

With 1.8 million followers on TikTok, the revived MuchMusic is firmly established within the entertainment industry, landing one-on-one interviews with some of music’s biggest stars, up-and-comers, and pop culture legends, including Tom Hanks, Lizzo, Alessia Cara, Lil Wayne, and Coi Leray, who was the first featured artist on the rebooted INTIMATE AND INTERACTIVE. Recently, the VJs have covered OSHEAGA 2022, Harry Styles’ World Tour, and interviewed buzz-worthy talent on the 2022 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS red carpet, capturing live event energy for audiences 24/7 across multiple digital and social platforms.
MuchMusic’s INTIMATE AND INTERACTIVE shines a spotlight on contemporary trendsetting artists, from long-established superstars to legends in the making. Tate McRae and Johnny Orlando add their names to the legendary concert series’ impressive roster, which includes the likes of Prince, Destiny’s Child, Sloan, Joni Mitchell, The Tragically Hip, Alanis Morissette, Coldplay, No Doubt, Spice Girls, Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys, Bryan Adams, its inaugural performer, Bruce Cockburn and most recently, Coi Leray and GAYLE.
