Monday

Awkward – 9pm on MTV – 5th Season Premiere

The irreverent comedy that centres on teenager Jenna Hamilton, who comes of age after an accident results in a blown-way-out-of-proportion misunderstanding returns for a fifth season.

Faking It – 9:30 on MTV – Mid-Season (2nd) Premiere

Karma and Amy are inseparable friends who rely on their bond for comfort and support. In fact, they are so close that, after numerous failed attempts to click with the popular crowd, they are outed as lesbians. It’s a big mistake that needs to be corrected — unless it has advantages! For Karma and Amy, being thought of as lovers means instant celebrity among their peers.

Tuesday

In Their Own Words – 9pm on PBS (check your local listings – Series Premiere

As the title suggests, this series features a biography of a different famous person each week. This week: Queen Elizabeth (next week: Muhammad Ali).

Drunk History – 10:30 on Much – 3rd season premiere

This comedy series returns with more unlikely tales of false history, based on the premise that the historians are drunk (and therefore prone to exaggeration).

Nowhere Boys – 6pm on The Family Channel – Series Premiere

In this Australian drama series, Jake, Felix, Andy and Sam are four boys who get lost in the woods, and when they are found, they discover that they are in an alternate reality where they never existed.

Thursday

Gortimer Gibbon’s Life On Normal Street – 6pm on The Family Channel – Series Premiere

This fantasy adventures series takes place on a magical street, where Gortimer and his two best friends, Mel and Ranger, discover a way to end the heat wave by solving a mystery involving an intimidating neighbor and an even more intimidating frog.

Friday

AwesomenessTV – 4:30 to 5:30pm on The Family Channel (two episodes) – Series Premiere

This sketch comedy stars Daniella Monet and is based on a popular YouTube channel of the same name.

Continuum – 9pm on Showcase – 4th Season Premiere

The science fiction drama set in a present-day Vancouver with visitors from the future begins its final season of six episodes.

Mr. Robot – 10pm to 11:30 on Showcase – Series Premiere

Christian Slater and Rami Malek star is this futuristic series about a cybersecurity tech who meets the leader of a hacker group and learn that a robot may be behind the biggest company in the world getting hacked.

Still Open All Hours – 10pm to 11:30 on BBC Canada – Series Premiere

Once upon a time, there was a popular British sitcom called Open All Hours (1973 to 1985). After they reunited for a 40th anniversary special, this six-part sequel was born.
