TV Gord’s What’s On for the week of March 22-28, 2015

A fairly quiet week for big TV events (unless you’re a Big Brother fan), but the latest shift in late night television happens this week.

Monday

Big Brother Canada – 8pm on Global and Slice

The third series gets underway, but there’s much more than just this one hour. You can also watch Big Brother Canada After Dark for three hours every night on Slice starting Thursday morning at 3am, and there’s the Big Brother Canada Side Show on Slice every Friday at 10pm.

Remedy – 9pm on Global

Season two gets underway with pivotal moments affecting the lives of all four members of the Conner family at Bethune General. There will be ten episodes this season.

Chasing Shadows – 9pm on CBC

This four-part British miniseries follows investigators in a missing persons bureau starring Alex Kingston (E.R., Doctor Who) and Reece Shearsmith.

The Late Late Show with James Corden – 12:35am on CBS and CTV two

After several weeks of several lacklustre fill-in hosts since Craig Ferguson’s departure, James Corden takes his seat in the late late talk show chair. His sidekick/bandleader is the highly entertaining Reggie Watts. James’ first guests on Monday are Tom Hanks and Mila Kunis, with Kerry Washington, Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart among the guests for his first week.

Wednesday

Young and Hungry – 8pm on ABC Spark

Season two of this Ashley Tisdale-produced sitcom starring Emily Osment and Jonathan Sadowski begins with Gabbi “friend”ing her true love (while her boss isn’t so lucky). Rex Lee (Entourage, Suburgatory) also stars.

Freak Out – 8:30 on ABC Spark

This hidden-camera show features unsuspecting people, whose fears come to life before their eyes with elaborate special effects, intricate makeup, twisted actors and multiple cameras capturing the scenario from every angle.

Thursday

It Takes A Church – 8pm on GSN

The combination reality and dating game show enters its second season, where church communities try to match up single members of their congregation.

Friday

Cristela – 8pm on ABC/CHCH

This struggling sitcom starring comedian Cristela Hernandez tries to grab a few more eyeballs by expanding to an hour with two episodes, pre-empting (and hopefully attracting fans of) Last Man Standing.
