1968 – 9 to 11pm (two episodes) on CNN – Series Premiere
CNN has examined full decades in its documentary series, but now they are singling out one specific year, 50 years ago, 1968. The first hour examines the state of the Vietnam War, while the second looks at how the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. touched off a tense period in American race relations. The remaining two episodes follow on Monday night, dealing with the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy, and the tumultuous election that ushered in the Nixon years.
Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted to You – 9 to 11pm on Superchannel
Celebrating five decades in the music business, this documentary examines the public and personal life of Olivia Newton-John.
