Monday

It’s Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown – 8 to 9pm on ABC

Kristen Bell hosts this special with celebrities sharing their memories of growing up with the Peanuts special, and musical guests recreate some of the music from it. The hour-long special, A Charlie Brown Christmas, follows at 9pm.

Superstore – 10pm on NBC – New Series Preview – Back-to-back episodes

One of the writers from The Office takes a new cast of characters and puts them into a big-box mega-store comedy series. That cast includes America Ferrera (Ugly Betty), Ben Feldman (Mad Men), Mark McKinney (Kids In The Hall) and Lauren Ash (The Ron James Show). This is a two-episode preview of a sitcom that will officially premiere on Mondays in January when The Voice is done for the season.

Tuesday

The Jim Gaffigan Show – 10:30 on Comedy – Series Premiere

This TV Land series (which has already been renewed for a second season) makes its Canadian debut on Comedy. It’s essentially a sitcom based on Gaffigan’s own life, raising five children with his wife in a two-bedroom New York City apartment. Ashley Williams plays his wife, Jeannie. Michael Ian Black is Jeannie’s friend, while Adam Goldberg plays Jim’s friend. The show will also feature a long and impressive list of guest stars playing fictional versions of themselves, including Chris Rock, Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Dave Attell, Whitney Cummings, Matthew Broderick and Jimmy Fallon. Macauley Culkin also shows up in several episodes playing himself holding down a string of low-paying jobs.

Thursday

The Wiz Live – 8 to 11pm on NBC/City

NBC’s annual tradition of producing a live musical (The Sound of Music, Peter Pan) continues with newcomer Shanice Williams as Dorothy, Elijah Kelley, Ne-Yo and David Alan Grier as The Scarecrow, The Tin Man and The Cowardly Lion (respectively), and Queen Latifah as The Wiz. Mary J. Blige is The Wicked Witch of the West, while Uzo Aduba plays Glinda, The Good Witch of the South. Stephanie Mills, who played Dorothy in the original 1975 production, portrays Aunt Em.

CMA Country Christmas – 9 to 11pm on ABC

Jennifer Nettles hosts this special featuring performances from Kelsea Ballerini, Dan & Shay, Mickey Guyton, Jewel, Charles Kelley, Martina McBride, David Nail, Pentatonix, LeAnn Rimes, and Darius Rucker.

Impastor – 10:30pm on Comedy – Series Premiere

Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor on Smallville) stars as Buddy Dobbs, a slacker with a gambling debt who is rescued from jumping off a bridge by a minister who accidentally falls to his own death. Buddy seizes the opportunity to assume the dead man’s identity…and then the fun begins. Also stars Sara Rue, Aimee Garcia and David Rasche.
