TV Gord’s WHAT’S ON for the week of October 22nd to 28th, 2017

all times eastern

The week leading up to Halloween starts with the 100th episode of The Walking Dead and ends with an SNL David S. Pumpkins special. Also, Blindspot returns, as does Top of the Lake, moving from Bravo to CBC for its second season. Happy viewing!

Sunday

The Walking Dead – 9 to 10:07pm on AMC – 8th Season Premiere

NOTE: During the marathon leading up to the new 100th episode, there are a couple of new “bonus feature” segments between the shows:

On Saturday from 2:45 to 2:49pm – 100th Episode Thank You to Fans

Also on Saturday from 9 to 11:15pm – The Journey So Far (a recap featuring the cast and crew)

On Sunday, from 7:30 to 9pm – Bonus Edition 716 (the 7th Season finale with a bonus never-before scene and cast and crew interviews)

Talking Dead – 10:07pm to midnight – 8th Season Premiere

Rehab Addict – 10 to 11pm on HGTV – 8th Season Premiere

Monday

Berlin Station – 9 to 10pm on Superchannel – 2nd Season Premiere

The Untitled Action Bronson Show – 11:30 to midnight on Viceland – Series Premiere

Action Bronson headlines a reality series with celebrities cooking up a night of entertainment, food and wine.

Tuesday

First Time Flippers – 9 to 9:30pm on DIY – 6th Season Premiere

Graves – 10 to 10:35pm on Superchannel – 2nd Season Premiere

Hunt Nazi Treasure – 10 to 11pm on History – Series Premiere

Investigators seek out treasures stolen by Nazis at the end of the Second World War. The opener looks at how Hitler oversaw the thefts in its early stages.

Wednesday

Top Of The Lake: China Girl – 9 to 10pm on CBC – 2nd Season Premiere

Friday

Blindspot – 8 to 9:01pm on NBC/CTV – 3rd Season Premiere

W1A – 10 to 10:30pm on BBC Canada – 3rd Season Premiere

Saturday

The David S. Pumpkins Halloween Special – 11:30pm to midnight on NBC/Global

I guess I was the only one who found SNL’s David S. Pumpkin sketch last October painfully unfunny, because it has inspired this 30-minute animated special, voiced by Tom Hanks, Mikey Day, Bobby Moynihan and Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage. It will be followed by an hour of SNL, presumably Halloween highlights from SNL’s vast library of classic sketches. Scary.
