VIVA ORIGINAL SERIES:
MURDER SHE SOLVED –SERIES PREMIERE
Murder She Solved is an hour-long documentary series that features female crime solvers who have unravelled some of Canada’s most daunting murder cases. Each episode combines elements of mystery and intrigue to take viewers through a case from crime scene to conviction, all from the unique point of view of the woman who solved it. The heroines range from a grizzled veteran to rookie detective and an independent private eye in training to a forensic specialist. The whodunit eight-episode series, produced by Force Four Entertainment in association with VIVA, premieres Saturday, September 11 at 10 p.m.
THE DEVIL YOU KNOW – SERIES PREMIERE
Each hour-long episode of the documentary series The Devil You Know gives a glimpse into the betrayals, double lives and psychological profiles of some of the most deceitful con artists, sexual offenders and serial killers on file. Viewers will hear first-hand accounts of each victim’s harrowing experience and with the guidance of an on-camera expert psychologist; the series offers insight into the criminal mind. The eight-episode series also educates viewers on how to recognize the tell-tale signs of a con artist by identifying trends and exposing the schemes of the men and women who have wreaked havoc on the lives of their victims. Produced by Make Believe Media in association with VIVA, The Devil You Know premieres Saturday, September 25 at 11 p.m.
GHOSTLY ENCOUNTERS – SEASON 4
Hosted by Lawrence Chau, Ghostly Encounters details the stories of people’s interactions with the supernatural, as told by those who witnessed it. With a blend of chilling re-enactments and archival photography, the series focuses on lending perspective to the events without challenging their truthfulness. The series also uses research and expert consultants to analyze the stories and put them in context. This season, Ghostly Encounters goes on the road to Kingston, Ottawa, Saint John and Halifax investigating the ghostly lore in each of the cities. Season 4 of this otherworldly series premieres Saturday, September 25 at 9 p.m.
HEALTHY GOURMET – SEASON 2
Nutritionist Julie Daniluk and Chef Ezra Title return for a second season of Healthy Gourmet, the half-hour series that follows Julie and Ezra as they tackle the ever present battle between taste and nutrition, helping home cooks create nutritious and tasty meals that can feed a crowd. In each episode, Julie and Ezra try to help a group of people find the right balance between food that’s healthy for the heart and tasty for the tongue. The goal of each episode is a food truce, as Ezra and Julie try to help their subject spice up the flavour while creating a healthy meal. Viewers can tune in to see these two hosts go head-to-head in the name of food when Season 2 of Healthy Gourmet premieres Saturday, September 11 at 7 p.m.
