This June, Cosmopolitan TV premieres the reality series Making the Cut, which details the drama involved in making it through beauty school. June also delivers a slew of movie premieres, including Miss Congeniality, starring Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock, About a Boy starring Hugh Grant, Toni Collette and Rachel Weisz, and the premiere of the two-part miniseries Maneater, starring Sarah Chalke.
MAKING THE CUT – SERIES PREMIERE
Making the Cut is a four-episode mini-series that delves into the world of beauticians, manicurists, estheticians and hair stylists. At the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Southern California, the lives of teachers and students move at a fast pace. They might be in the business of beauty, but they’re not softies – they’re ambitious, motivated and cut-throat, always ready to remove their competition. Each one-hour episode follows the students as they struggle to create fresh and beautiful looks and to get the elusive piece of paper that their dreams depend on. Viewers can catch Making the Cut Mondays at 8 p.m. beginning Monday, May 31.
MANEATER – MINISERIES PREMIERE
In the CosmoTV premiere of the two-part miniseries Maneater, thirty-something “It” girl and shallow socialite Clarissa Alpert (Sarah Chalke) uses her good looks and charisma to work her way into the inner circles of Hollywood. However, with her 32nd birthday around the corner, single Alpert decides that she needs to get married – and the only thing missing is a groom. With the help of her friends, overly confident Clarissa concocts a plan to land Aaron Mason (Philip Winchester), the hottest new movie producer in town, who, she hopes, will be her husband. One of Lifetime Television’s highest rated programs in 2009, the series is based on Gigi Levangie Grazer’s best-selling book of the same name.
