City and Colour performs on MTV LIVE before taping 30-minute special

Singer-songwriter City and Colour (aka Dallas Green) celebrates his latest album with a special visit to MTV on Tuesday, June 7. While at CTV’s legendary Masonic Temple in Toronto, City and Colour closes MTV LIVE at 6 p.m. ET with a one-song performance, then sticks around to chat with MTV NEWS hosts Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, Johnny Hockin, and Sharlene Chiu and perform more songs from his new album Little Hell. The intimate conversation and performance is captured in a 30-minute special CITY AND COLOUR PLAYS WITH MTV NEWS premiering Thursday, June 23 at 10:30 p.m. ET, exclusively on MTV.

MTV NEWS brings viewers a daily look at the uncharted landscape of popular culture. Every day, hosts Aliya-Jasmine Sovani and reporters Johnny Hockin, and Sharlene Chiu report on breaking news in the world of music, movies, and celebrity. The show often features in-depth interviews with emerging and established musical artists, including Arcade Fire, Brandon Flowers, Broken Social Scene, Dave Navarro, Kanye West, Usher, Wintersleep, and many more,

City and Colour performs in The Concert Hall at Toronto’s Masonic Temple, home to MTV in Canada. The long-standing landmark at the corner of Davenport and Yonge was home to concerts by David Bowie, The Pogues, as well as Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Led Zeppelin, and The Ramones before its transformation into the Canadian home of MTV. The venue has operated under various names and served as a rehearsal space for The Rolling Stones.

City and Colour (aka Dallas Green) instantly connecting with Canadians and fans around the world with his stripped-down, heartfelt sound. Critically-acclaimed from the get-go, his debut album Sometimes achieved platinum certification in 2006. His sophomore release Bring Me Your Love (2008) debuted at #2 on the Top 200 Soundscan chart in Canada and is also certified platinum. Green has recently sold-out an Australian tour as well as London’s legendary Royal Albert Hall. His latest release, Little Hell hits stores June 7.
