Four Canadians Bring THE BURIED LIFE to MTV

As the new year begins, MTV proudly presents an inspiring series guaranteed to motivate resolutions for the next decade. THE BURIED LIFE follows four Canadians with a list of 100 things they want to do before they die. Premiering Monday, Jan. 18 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, this real life adventure of four regular guys from Victoria, B.C. proves anything is possible.

You can’t “friend” a dream. You can’t “download” your first kiss. You can’t “tag” happiness. With that in mind, Duncan Penn, Ben Nemtin, Dave Lingwood, and Jonnie Penn made a list… and not just an everyday “To Do” list. The group certainly has their work cut out for them with tasks like: #15 – Get on the cover of Rolling Stone; #55 – Kiss Rachel McAdams; #59 – Deliver a baby; #78 – Fall in love; and #95 – Play ball with Obama. And now, with the help of MTV, Duncan, Ben, Jonnie and Dave crossed #53 off their list – Start a TV Show. Now, THE BURIED LIFE showcases these four guys’ extraordinary attempts to accomplish all of these items – large and small – and check them off the list.

“Life moves fast and we wanted to slow down and enjoy it,” said Jonnie Penn of THE BURIED LIFE. “To do that we had to ask ourselves some important questions, most importantly: What do I need to achieve or experience before I die? When we asked strangers this question, we were fascinated with the answers we received. Given the ultimate deadline, people are forced to ignore the day-to-day trivialities that sometimes bury their lives, and evaluate their most personal dreams and ambitions.”

The foursome also made a promise to themselves – for every goal they achieve, they pay it forward and help a complete stranger discover, organize, or attempt their wildest dreams. As they travel from town to town on their purple bus “Penelope”, the four race to make the implausible happen, all before leaving on their next adventure.

“Duncan, Ben, Dave, and Jonnie are perfect examples of a generation taking destiny into their own hands,” said Brad Schwartz, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Much MTV Group, CTV Inc. “THE BURIED LIFE is a truly inspirational series that touches the hearts of all audiences. These four guys from Victoria prove that anything is possible and show the world how to live life to its fullest. We are so proud they are Canadian.”
