This May, MTV flexes its buzz-worthy TV muscle with the exclusive premiere of the highly anticipated and much-talked about series THE SHOW WITH VINNY on Thursday, May 2 at 10 p.m. ET. Starring JERSEY SHORE’s Vinny Guadagnino, this unconventional, 30-minute talk series shatters the typical talk show format by taking the biggest celebrities out of the studio and into Vinny Guadagnino’s family home in Staten Island, New York. Celebrities brave enough to visit Vinny include Whitney Cummings, A$AP Rocky, Lil’ Wayne, and in the premiere episode, Ke$ha and Mark Wahlberg stop in to provide Vin with some sound (and terrifying) life advice. Each week, Vinny invites guests into his home where celebrities can experience the hospitality and Italian cuisine prepared by the ultimate hostess, his mother Paola, and the antics of the “party boss”, his Uncle Nino. In Vinny’s home, guests let their guard down as they have a meal, and a candid conversation with the Guadagnino family. Combining the reality of Guadagnino’s home life – a fan-favourite aspect from JERSEY SHORE – and off-the-cuff interviews with today’s hottest celebrities, THE SHOW WITH VINNY does not have a studio or an audience – just family, food, and big stars.
Continuing to give viewers something to talk about, immediately following THE SHOW WITH VINNY, MTV in Canada premieres its first-ever sports/entertainment crossover Original Series, PLAY WITH AJ. Airing Thursday nights at 10:30 p.m. ET starting May 2, this all-new, 30-minute series hosted by MTV’s own sports enthusiast, Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, delivers a diverse array of interviews and topics ranging from an interview with Tim McGraw about his wife Faith Hill taking over the theme song for NBC’s SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL; chatting with NHL alums Scott Thornton and P.J. Stock about how they spent their first big paycheck; and finding out exactly what kind of music the New York Knicks listen to.
