The abortion debate is complicated, opinionated, and often in the headlines. MTV’s social issues series takes on the discussion in MTV NEWS PRESENTS IMPACT: ABORTION STORIES, airing Sunday, April 10 at 6 p.m. ET/PT. The half hour show gives individuals close to the issue a voice, investigating why even talking about abortion is considered taboo, the potential negative connotations’ of the word “abortion”, and the impact that can have on a woman’s reproductive rights.
Hosted by Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, MTV NEWS PRESENTS IMPACT: ABORTION STORIES features women sharing their experiences with abortion, what it’s like to be a pro-life advocate, and the perspective of a man who has been on both sides of the issue. It includes JUNO-nominated hip hop artist Eternia, who shares her account of making the toughest decision of her life.
This is the eighth installment of the MTV NEWS PRESENTS IMPACT series. These ongoing specials take an in-depth look at serious topics that impact MTV viewers and aim to spark discussion and debate.
