The Golden Popcorn is almost ready as the movie event of the summer – the 2011 MTV MOVIE AWARDS – returns Sunday, June 5 at 9 p.m. ET on MTV. Hosted by SNL funnyman Jason Sudeikis, the show broadcasts live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. On the North side of the border, MTV MOVIE NIGHT host Johnny Hockin holds things down during the broadcast with live hits from the Masonic Temple in Toronto.
Announced today is ACADEMY AWARD® winning Reese Witherspoon is set to be honoured as recipient of the MTV Generation Award. Also announced today is that Twi-hards can get their first-look into the upcoming Twilight installment, with a special sneak-peek of Breaking Dawn Part 1.
MTV fans have the chance to be a part of the event through multi-platform interaction with Hockin, as seven lucky Virgin Mobile Members get the VIP treatment, joining Johnny for an in-studio screening party as he broadcasts live from the Masonic Temple. Viewers at home can interact with Hockin using MTV’s first ever co-viewing mobile app, MTV Social.
