Oprah Winfrey’s exclusive interview with Lance ArmstrongOprah and Lance Armstrong: The Worldwide Exclusive on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network (Canada), continued to be a ratings leader for Canadian English Specialty Networks on Friday, January 18, with Part 2 of the special episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter, drawing an average minute audience of 411,000 (2+) at 9 p.m. ET. On Thursday, January 17, Part 1 of the special was also the highest-rated show for the day across all Canadian English Specialty Networks for Adults and Women 25-54 with an average minute audience of 715,000 (2+), making it  the highest rated telecast in OWN (Canada)’s history for all key demos. Additionally, 800,000 unique viewers tuned in to watch the LIVE interview stream online worldwide.  

Oprah and Lance Armstrong: The Worldwide Exclusive also saw success in terms of social media conversations in Canada. Throughout the week of January 14, the special received over 25,000 Canadian mentions referencing “Oprah” and the “Lance Armstrong” interview on Twitter, delivering over 48,000,000 earned impressions. The vast majority of discussion took place during the live broadcast Thursday and Friday, demonstrating a high level of audience engagement throughout the exclusive event. Trending topics in Canada for Thursday and Friday included “Oprah”, “Lance Armstrong”, “OWN” and the official event hashtag ‘#OWNTV”.

OWN (Canada) continued its momentum on Sunday night with the broadcast of Oprah’s Next Chapter featuring Drew Barrymore, winning the night across all Canadian English Specialty Networks for Women 25-54 on Sunday, January 20.
