Finale season continues on the network front, with the final week of May seeing 27 more finales including the series finale of Black Lightning and All Rise which was recently cancelled. Also, with the arrival of June, networks begin their switch to summer programming; the first week of June sees the return of ABC’s Summer of Games with the season premiere of $100,000 Pyramid & Press Your Luck and the return of reality fan favourites America’s Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior, Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef. On the specialty & streaming series front, the next 2 weeks see the premiere of 7 new series and the return of Black Monday, In Treatment, Mr. Inbetween, Ragnarok, The Bold Type, The Chi and The Kominsky Method. New series premiering in the next two weeks include Amazon Prime Video’s new teen drama Panic as well as new foreign language series Dom & Parot, Apple TV’s new drama miniseries Lisey’s Story, Netflix’s new fantasy drama Sweet Tooth, HBO Max’s new drama Girls5Eva, Paramount+’s new CGI reboot of popular animated series Rugrats, Showtime’s new comedy Flatbush Misdemeanors and Housebroken a new animated series from FOX. In addition, Mare of Easttown, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers and The Mosquito Coast conclude their current season.
Other highlights include the premiere of new reality series Crime Scene Kitchen, new game show Small Fortune and new 2-part documentary- Mike Tyson: The Knockout, which looks at the rise, fall and comeback of former boxing champion Mike Tyson.. On the reality front, American Idol, The Masked Singer and The Voice conclude their current season as do game shows Ellen’s Game of Games and Game of Talents. In addition, 2021 Billboard Music Awards air May 23 @ 8pm ET and the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards air May 27 @ 8pm ET.
