May has arrived which means its time to bid farewell to your favourite network series as they wind down their current seasons. Due to the upheaval caused by the ongoing pandemic, some series have wrapped things up early while most will conclude later than usual- most finales will occur mid to late May, 18 over the next two weeks including 3 series finales- Last Man Standing, Mom and Prodigal Son. On the specialty & streaming series front, the next 2 weeks see the premiere of 6 new series and the return of Castlevania, High School Musical:The Musical: The Series, The Good Witch, Trying and Who Killed Sara?. New series premiering in the next two weeks include Amazon Prime Video’s new anthology series Solos, Netflix’s new sitcom The Upshaws, HBO Max’s new dark comedy Hacks, Hulu’s new adult animated superhero sitcom Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. and Super Channel’s new original drama Mystic. In addition, Breeders, City on a Hill, Mayans M.C., The Gloaming, The Nevers and When Calls the Heart conclude their current season.
Other highlights include the premiere of new variety series Ziwe and new documentary- The Crime of the Century, which explores the origins, extent, and fallout of one of the most devastating public health tragedies of our time- opioid addition. On the reality front, Master Chef Canada and Shark Tank conclude their current season as do the following Food Network competition series: Chef Boot Camp, Chopped, Dinner: Impossible, Spring Baking Championship and The Big Bake. In addition, American Ninja Warrior returns with an all-new 2hr special to crown the first-ever Women’s Champion.
