E1 Scores Big With Lakers’ Superstar Ron Artest

E1 Entertainment has joined forces with Tijuana Entertainment (“Obsessed” and “Is She Really Going Out With Him?”) and LA Laker’s Forward, Ron Artest to develop and produce his first ever reality series, “They Call Me Crazy.”

Artest will star in the genuine reality series where he is given a chance to make amends for past transgressions and also help develop aspiring artists through his hip-hop label, Tru Warier which will be supported through the marketing and distribution channels of E1 Music. Viewers will get an inside look at the Lakers’ notorious bad-boy and the many hats he wears off the court.

“E1 is excited to be part of this series as it promises unprecedented access to one of the most provocative athletes in the world,” commented Tara Long, VP Alternative Programming for E1 Television. “This is a unique reality series that will take viewers on an intimate journey with Ron beyond his explosive, on-court persona and into his dynamic, unpredictable world.”

“I’m really excited to have the opportunity to invite people into my world to see the real me, and show them there are many more sides to the Ron Artest they see on the basketball court,” added Ron Artest. “This show will allow me to share my experiences with others, and hopefully people can learn from the mistakes I’ve made.”

Serving as Executive Producers for the reality series are Artest with Tru Warier Enterprises, Inc., E1 Entertainment’s John Morayniss and Tara Long along with Tijuana’s Troy Searer and John Foy. E1 will handle the worldwide distribution for the series and E1 Music will provide marketing and distribution support for Artest’s music label, Tru Warier.

E1 Television continues to build worldwide recognition as one of the industry’s foremost creators, producers, international distributors of high-profile programming across all genres. The studio has an impressive track record of creating innovative and quality entertainment by bridging the gap between television and music. Most recently, E1 Television and E1 Music announced their first collaboration to release a new studio album and reality show for Hip Hop’s First Lady, Faith Evans. In addition, E1 and the legendary KISS sealed a deal to develop and produce a half-hour children’s television series.
