Engine Entertainment Launches New U.S. Action Series PT DUME

Chief Executive of Engine Entertainment, Chris Philip announced today they have entered into a partnership with Twentieth Television, Inc. and QED International on the new U.S. syndicated series, PT DUME from Baywatch creator Gregory J. Bonann.

Engine Entertainment will handle the worldwide distribution (excluding the U.S.) and will be actively seeking pre-sales for the series at this year’s MIPCOM Television Festival (stand A0.09). Gregory J. Bonann will also attend on behalf of the series. Twentieth Television, Inc. is handling domestic distribution who has sold the series to Tribune Broadcasting Stations in top ten markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Washington D.C.

“Pt Dume marks the return of a significant winning formula for which there is always a demand internationally,” commented Chris Philip, Chief Executive of Engine Entertainment. “It’s the perfect team to ensure a successful global rollout and we are thrilled to be part of it.”

Co-created by Gregory J. Bonann (Baywatch) who also serves as Executive Producer, the series is set at Pt. Dume, the most beautiful, secluded and dangerous beach on Malibu’s pristine shoreline. Focused around a group of teenagers who, for varying reasons, have violated the Los Angeles Unified School district’s zero tolerance policy, are now each facing expulsion for their potentially life-changing mistake. Three heroes — one lifeguard, one firefighter and a U.S. Coastguard pilot — have created the country’s most unique detention program in an attempt to turn these kids around. Their inclusion in the program is the only way they can stay in school. Period. They will work closely with the coast guard, lifeguard and fire departments as they are taught invaluable lessons, embark on intense training and experience first-hand what it takes to save a life. With beauty, danger, deception, and redemption, PT DUME brings blue skies and action-adventure back to broadcast television.

“I could not be more excited about my return to the beach to tell stories with life and death stakes,” said Gregory J. Bonann, Co-creator and EP for the series. “The show is about young reluctant heroes at a crossroads – their next steps will change their lives… one way or the other.”

This project was packaged by Paradigm. Michael Gendler brokered the deal.
