I would like to thank all our readers as well as the regular contributors to our TV Forums who have helped keep the site and forums going for another year. 2020 marks the beginning of a new decade and another year in the ongoing renewal of Channel Canada, continuing our effort to become the go-to site in Canada for TV News and views. We welcome your comments, criticisms and suggestions to help make Channel Canada the best site for TV related content.
In 2020, Channel Canada will continue to keep you informed of all the latest news from the Canadian broadcasting industry including programming highlights, sports news and updates on all your favourite TV shows. In addition to our regular features (Monthly CBC Gem & CraveTV highlights, Fall TV Preview and sports schedules), I am pleased to announce that 2020 will mark the return of the popular What’s On? column, which was originated by the late great TV Gord. In his honour, I have decided to bring this feature back and to continue on with what he started . NOTE: This column will replace the monthly TV Series Highlights feature which will be discontinued.
New for 2020:
- Weekly What’s On column which features information on what is airing on TV and on the various streaming services in the week ahead. The column will contain info on New series, premieres & finales for returning series and a selection of key programs of interest. Listing information will span all broadcasting formats from traditional broadcast TV to specialty services to online streaming platforms. The first instalment, an extended version covering the period between January 1-11, will be posted today.
- TV Series Listings section will be expanded in 2020, with the addition of new pages for HBO Max and Peacock– two new streaming services that will be launching in the new year. It has been announced that HBO Max originals will be available in Canada through Crave. There has been no word on whether Peacock will be available to Canadian viewers, availability will likely be announced closer to launch.
The TV series listings section is updated on a regular basis and status updates (renewals, cancellations) are posted as they become available on the forums and on the Channel Canada Facebook page.
All the best,
CDN Viewer, Channel Canada content editor.
