The fall season is here! Starting this week more and more channels will shuffle their programming grid to offer you what they think is the best damn schedule, period. Let’s take a look at the schedule grid that start off this week with an analysis of their primetime programming grid.
Here’s a list of channels where the fall schedule becomes effective during the week of August 30th.

Action
No change was made to the primetime schedule. On top of top rated action movies like Robocop (Sept. 5), The Rundown (Sept. 19), Rambo (Sept. 19) and Constantine (Sept. 26th) , Action reserve you a good doze of silly with two back-to-back episodes of Trailer Park Boys at 6pm and 8pm. Other notable change include the addition of SWAT USA on Tuesdays and ALL WORKED UP on Sundays to their daytime schedule.

BBC Canada
BBC Canada’s 8pm timeslots remain virtually the same as Building a New Life airs four days a week with Ancien Waether remaining on Fridays, Antique Roadshow on Saturdays and Best of British on Sundays.
Top Gear, which was airing at 10pm in the summer moves to 9pm (mon-fri) with Secret Milionnaire (sat ) and Best of British staying put.
At 10pm, the new lineup wich includes the UK adaptation of The Apprentice on Tuesdays. Inspectors (Mon), Secret Milionnaire (Wed & Sun), Kitchen Nightmares (Thu) and Jonathan Ross Show (Fri) as well as Best of British (Sun) fills up the rest of the weeknights. The 10pm timeslot on the weekend remain unaffected with The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturdays and Best of British block on Sundays.
BBC Kids
BBC Kids goes for more variety on its weeknights fall schedule. In the summer, they kept it simple with The Weakest Link ad 8pm, Beauty and the Geek at 9pm and Brat Camp at 10pm. This fall, The Weakest Link remains at 8pm, Our Here followed by the animated version of Mr Bean at 9pm and 9:30pm. At 10pm lots of variety with a movie on Mondays and fridays, Graham Norton show on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Dawson’s Creek on Wednesdays and Saturdays and two episodes of Vicar of Dibley on sundays.
CHCH
Channel Zero, the new owners of CHCH recently announced a new look, new programming and an enhanced news epericence. Although most new series don’t start until the end of September, the new format is effective starting today. The primetime schedule grid will see the addition of Chcuk on Mondays @ 8pm as well as other new additions at 10pm like Smallville (tue), Supernatural (thu), 20/20 (fri) and 48 Hours Mystery (sat). The rest of the primetime schedule is filled with movies. Jimmy Kimmel Live has also been added at midnight. Plus expect some laughs with Ed the Sock’s This Move Sucks on Saturdays at midnight.

the classic series Hawaii Five-O make its was to DejaView this fall.
DejaView doubles up on everything on its primetime schedule. Two episodes of All in the Family, Golden Girls and Whatever Happened To air at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm on weeknights. On weekends, Two back-to-back episodes of Coach and Roseanne air at 8pm and 9pm with Whatever Happened To at 10pm and Fanatical at 10:30pm.
DejaView has added new series to its non-primetime lineup. They include the first four seasons of Barney Miller, the first three seasons of Designing Woman as well as seasons 1 through 3 of the classic seris Hawaii Five-O.
DIY Network Canada
New series hitting DIY this fall include Bath Crashers (Tuesdays @ 10pm) and House Crashers (Wed. @ 9pm). Changes from the summer schedule include Sweat Equity now airing weeknights @ 8pm followed by Renovation Realities at 8:30pm. At 9pm, expect back-to-back episodes of Blog Cabin, Man Caves, Renovation Realities, Cool Tools, Bathastic and Kitchen Impossible. At 10pm, Rock Solid on Mondays, Deconstruction on Wednesdays, 10 Grand in Your Had on Thursdays as well as Reel Renos on Sundays remain put on the fall schedule. New 10pm additions include Cool Tools on Tuesdays and additional airings on Deconstruction on Saturdays.
Although the new schedule becomes effective today, new seasons of popular series and new series premieres begin the following week.
Food Network
New acquisitions on Food Network include The Opener, Dinner Party Wars, Top Chef: Washington and Jamie’s American Road Trip.
The fall schedule includes Iron Chef American getting more episodes on air since it now airs five times a week @ 8pm. At 9pm, a lot of variety which include Top Chef, new series The Opener, Dinner Party Wars, Private Chefs of Beverly Hills, Throwdown, Chopped and Iron Chef America. The 10pm timeslot seem to be working well for Canwest as they made ver little change. Good Eats returns to primetime at 10:30pm on Mondays and The F Word also returns on Sundays.

History Television
History has made some serious scheduling this fall. Lots of new series premiering this fall. They include Nazi Hunters, American Pickers, The Real, Chasing Mummies, William Shatner’s Weird or What?, Life After People anf Trashopolis. At 8pm there are mostly new series like (in weekday order starting with Monday) Nazi Hunters, The Real, Chasing Mummies, William Shatner’s Weird or What?, Lost Worlds, Life After People and various fact/film docs on syndays.
At 9pm, Fridays and week-ends are reserved for movies with series WWII in HD on Mondays, two episodes of Pawn Starts on Tuesday, Ice Road Truckerss and Life After People on Thursdays and Fridays respectively.
At 10pm, you’ll see Outlaw Bikers, American Pickers, William Shatner’s Weird or What?, and Trashopolis from Mondays to Thursdays. The 9pm movies airing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday continue to air at 10pm.
IFC
Since IFC air mostly movies, there aren’t many changes to the schedule grid. Expect network premieres of Doubt, Rock’N’Rolla, The Bank Job and Saw 5 in the spring. From September 20 to 24 enjoy your favourite Daniel Craig movies every night at midnight.
There are a few changes to the 8pm timeslot, mainly on Tuesdays with Cold Blood, Ink/ Alter Ego Exposed at 8:30pm on Wednesdays and The Henry Rollins Show on Thursdays. Remaining from the summer schedule are Crime Stories on Mondays, Producing Parker on Wednesdays and The Raw side of… on Fridays. Movies air at 7pm on week-ends as well as on every night at 9pm except on Fridays where back-to-back episodes of Vice Guide To Film airs at 9pm followed by a double dose of Webdreams at 10pm.
Investigation Discovery / CourtTV Canada
It is today that CourTV Canada is replaced with Investigation Discovery. There are many changes to the schedule removing court related programming like In Session. Some of CourTV’s programs crossed over to ID like W5. New series include Forensics: You Decide (Tue @ 9pm), Extreme Forensics (Tue @ 10pm), Prison Wives (Wed @ 10pm), The Bureau (Thu @ 9pm) and much more. Movies, movies and more movies are in store for this channel’s fall schedule grid. In primetime expect movies at 7pm on weeknights and 6:30pm on week-ends plus movies at 9pm. New movies being added to the rotation this September include BASEketball (Sept. 25), Strange Wilderness (Sept. 25), Harold and Kumat Go to White Castle (Sept. 25). The channel also has a few marathons like “on a mission marathon” which includes Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve and Mission Impossible on September 4th and Star Trek-a-thon on September 6th.
National Geographic Channel
Nat’l Geo has new seasons of The Dog Whisperer (season 6) and Lockdown (season 2) as well as new series Great Migrations.
Taking a closer look at the schedule grid, W5 survives the rebrand as it airs Mondays @ 8pm followed by Escaped and Deadly Women. On Tuesdays, a Forensics block airs with F2: Forensic Factor, Forensic: You Decide and Extreme Forensics. On Wednesdays, On the Case with Paula Zhan airs at 8pm followed by Cook Country and Prison Wives. Crime That Shook the World airs at 9pm on Thursdays. The Shift airs before at 8pm and is followed at 10pm by Undercover: Double Life. Friday, True Crime Scene and Unsolved History are followed up by I (almost) Got Away with It. On Saturdays, True Crime with Aphrodite Jones airs at 8pm followed by two episodes of Solved at 9pm and 10pm. Finally, on Sundays, various specials will air.
Showcase Diva
It looks as though reruns of NCIS are working well for Canwest because on top of airing it weeknights at 7pm, they added airings on Mondays at 8pm and 9pm, followed by Bones. For the rest of the weeknight, movies will air at 8pm and 10:30pm. On week-ends, movies air at 7:30pm and 10pm.
New series that are being added to the schedule (though not in primetime) are Crash and Burn (Mon), Haven (Thu) and the first three seasons of The Guard (fri). Absent from the summer schedule and returning to Diva are CSI (weedays @ 1pm and on week-ends) , About a Girl (tue) and Num3ers (weekdays @ 3pm & 3am).
Movies premiering this fall on Dova include Good Luck Chuck (Sept. 5), Alvin and the Chipmunks (Sept. 12) and Made of Honor (Sept. 18).
TVtropolis
TVtropolis has injected a serious amount of Reality TV this fall. New series include Total Wipeout, The Marriage Ref, Toally Tracked Down, The A&E Emmy Award winning hit Intervention and is also the exclusive home of I Survived…
Taking a closer look at the schedule grid, we see Total Wipeout having two episodes at 8pm and 9pm on Mondays. On Tuesdays, Worst Driver and The Marriage Ref share duties at 8pm and 9pm while on Wednesdays, its Intervention followed by I Survived… We then take a reality series brack with four episodes of Friends on Thursdays. Comedy is also on the grid for Fridays with two episodes of both That 70’s Show and King of the Hill. On Saturdays, new series Souther Friend Stings and All Worked Up have both two episodes at 8pm and 9pm. On Sundays, repeat of America’s Worst Drivers airs at 8pm followed by two episodes of Real Renos at 9pm and 9:30pm and Buy Me at 10pm and 10:30pm. Weeknights and Saturdays at 10pm, Family Guy is on followed by Southern Fried Stings Mondays and Tuesdays, Parking Wars on Wednesdays, All worked Up Thursdays and Fridays with family guy airing on Saturdays. Finally, another episode of Buy Me closes the week on Sundays.
Starting September 1st:
APTN HD
APTN HD offers new series The Candy Show Tuesdays at 9pm followed by The Bionic Bannock Boys at 9:30pm. Both shows also airs Saturdays at the same times. The Bionic Cannock Boys also airs on Fridays at 9pm. Other new series include Sheltered on Wednesdays @ 8pm.
Bravo!
This fall on Bravo!, you will be able to see the second season of Star Portrait (Sat @ 8pm), Great Canadian Books (Sat @ 8:30pm). Appointmen with Dance and Music are back on Mondays and Tuesdays @ 8pm. Weeknights @ 9pm, Bravo! At nine features Docs, Concerts and more various programming. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Bravo! Makes room to movies, a new addition to Bravo is the “Friday Features” on Fridays. Patch Adam is set to premiere on September 10th.
CMT
CMT’s schedule is quite simple. Weeknights, they make room for wall-to-wall comedy. Mondays to thurdays at 8pm, America’s Funniest Home Videos is followed by two episodes each of According to Jim at 9pm and Home Improvement at 10pm. Fridays, AFHV is replaced with Pick a Puppy and ER Vet. The rest of the night is identical as other weekdays.
On Saturdays, Out of Country and CMT Star Crossed air at 8pm followed by two episodes of 8 Simple Rules and Hope & Faith at 10pm. Finally on Sundays, AFHV starts things up at 8pm with Supernanny and Wife Swap closing the night.
Dusk
Movies, movies and more movies! There are movies everyday at 7pm plus Mondays to Thursdays and Sundays at 10pm. Weeknight at 9pm, you can get your sci-fi fix with Supernatural. If you prefer a lovely dark comedy, then tune in Sundays @ 9pm for Dead Like Me.
Sundance Channel
This is the first fall schedule for this channel who was previously know as Drive-In Classics and changed ownership from CTVglobemedia to Corus Entertainment.
Weeknights at 8pm, you get Arrested Development followed by In the House With Gerber and Bart at 8:30pm. At 9pm on Mondays, Iconoclast followed by Film Festival Project at 10pm. On Tuesdays, Fridays, and on week-ends at 9pm, you get movies!
For Wednesdays and premiering the week of September 6th, the second season of The Day Before premieres at 10pm followed by Architecture School at 10:30pm.
The Score
The Score has wrestling! WWE Raw on Mondays @ 9pm, WWNXT on Wednesdays @ 9pm, SMACKDOWN on Fridays @ 8pm. They also got NCAA Football on Thursdays @ 9pm and MMA Fight Night on Sundays @ 8pm. The rest of the primetime schedule is mostly filled with Poker tournament and Score Now.
