Apartment 11 Productions Announces The Appointement of New Development Head

Apartment 11 Productions is pleased to announce the appointment of Alberta Nokes as Head of Development, effective immediately. Nokes’ responsibilities will include cultivating existing development projects, seeking out and evaluating pitches, and developing new properties in the children’s and adult factual programming genres.

Nokes brings extensive experience in both broadcast and production to Apartment 11. She has created, written, developed, financed, executive produced and commissioned more than 500 hours of television programming including several international co-productions. Her many roles have included Vice President of Development for Frantic Films, Executive Producer and Head of Development for Associated Producers Limited, Executive in Charge of Production for History Television, and Director of Independent Production for S-Vox/Vision TV & ONE.

Nokes’ projects include long-running factual series like “The Naked Archaeologist,” “Recreating Eden,” and “Enigma” and award-winning feature documentaries like “The Lost Tomb of Jesus.” Her work has involved national and international broadcasters including Vision TV- Canada; History Television and The History Channel USA, International and UK; Discovery USA; BBC 4; TG4-Ireland; S4C -Wales; France 5; Smithsonian; PBS and National Geographic USA.

Throughout her career, Nokes also has worked with Oscar, Emmy, BAFTA, Peabody, Juno and Gemini award winning directors and producers including James Cameron, Ric Esther Bienstock, and Antony Thomas. Prior to her work in television production, Nokes held the position of VP Marketing and Communications for Vision TV, was a consultant on communications and regulatory affairs to CBC Radio and Television. She has also written three factual television series.
