Nelvana showcases two hot properties in production at MIPTV

Nelvana Enterprises will present two exciting animated series in production at this year’s MIPTV including Zack & Deuce (based on the book “The Day My Butt Went Psycho”) and Season 2 of Mike the Knight.

Zack & Deuce

Zack & Deuce (52 x 11-minutes)

This 2D animated comedy series for kids 6 – 11, based on Scholastic’s best-selling book series “The Day My Butt Went Psycho”, by Andy Griffiths, is the incredible tale of a boy named Zack and his best friend Deuce, who just happens to be his newly detached butt. Together Zack and Deuce have their own special knack for outrageous adventures and have a blast navigating a world where humans and their butts live side by side, sharing the same movie theatres, squabbling over the same parking spots, and swooning over celebrities and cele-butt-ies. But some butts are up to no good. Our hero Zack keeps the world safe from double-cheeked bad guys and dreams of becoming the greatest butt fighter of all time. And having a genuine butt in your corner—as your best butt friend forever—can be quite an advantage, especially when it comes to battling the bad butts. Can Zack and Deuce save the world from butts gone berserk? The series is a Canadian-Australian co-production from Nelvana Limited and Studio Moshi, in association with Scholastic Entertainment Inc. Commissioning broadcasters include Teletoon (Canada) and the Nine Network (Australia) and ABC (Australia). In some territories, including Australia, the series will be released as The Day My Butt Went Psycho.

Mike the Knight – Season 2 (52 x 12-minutes)

In Season 2 of global preschool hit series Mike the Knight, which includes 26 x 12-minute episodes, viewers will be introduced to Mike’s father and role model, the King of Glendragon, who has been away exploring faraway lands. Set in the medieval land of Glendragon, Mike the Knight takes viewers into a rich, CG-animated world of wizards, castles, missions, dragons and trolls. With his rallying cry, ‘Be a knight, do it right!’ the heroic Mike brings the excitement and enchantment of medieval times into the life of the modern preschooler. Mike the Knight is a Canada-United Kingdom co-production between HIT Entertainment and Nelvana. Nelvana Enterprises represents the series in broadcast and home entertainment in Latin America and France as well as broadcast in the US, while HIT Entertainment represents Mike the Knight in all other territories globally.

Nelvana will also present the following animated series at MIPTV:   Detentionaire, OH NO! (It’s an Alien Invasion), Babar and the Adventures of Badou, Franklin & Friends specials Polar Explorer and Deep Sea Voyage and BEYBLADE: Shogun Steel.
