The United States gets cock’d and loaded as Tricon Films & Television, one of North America’s fastest growing production and distribution companies, announces the sale of Cock’d Gunns to U.S online video service Hulu.
“With technology continuing to evolve, people consume television differently today. Cock’d Gunns should be a great fit for the Hulu audience,” says Andrea Gorfolova, President of Tricon Films & Television. “It’s clever and unapologetic.”
Cock’d Gunns premiered in Canada on IFC and Showcase. The series was created by award-winning skit comedy writers with musical talent: Brooks Gray, Leo Scherman, Morgan Waters and Andy King. The group, who star in the series, were enlisted to develop the comedy series after starring in the hugely popular MuchMusic prank show Screwed Over.
Following in the footsteps of classics such as Spinal Tap and Flight of the Conchords, Cock’d Gunns is an unflinching, semi-scripted rockumentary about the best, worst band you’ve never heard of. The only thing separating Cock’d Gunns from their dream of a record deal is a total lack of work ethic, finished songs, talent, and legions of fans. But they’re committed, cock’d, and ready to shoot straight to the top.
Cock’d Gunns debuted with guns blazing winning two Gemini Awards for the Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Series and Best Writing in a Comedy Series.
