October CraveTV Highlights: KILLING EVE, New VICE Collection, New Season of RAY DONOVAN, VICE PRINCIPALS, and More

This month on CraveTV: Season 1 of Sandra Oh’s critically acclaimed thriller KILLING EVE begins streaming; Season 6 of SHOWTIME drama RAY DONOVAN premieres, along with new episodes of KIDDING and THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE WILDEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH; new content from HBO’s HIGH MAINTENANCE and VICE PRINCIPALS; CraveTV expands its new kid’s collections with even more programming; the new VICE Collection launches; the service marks the legalization of marijuana with an expanded 420 Collection; and more.

New series, documentaries, and specials that begin streaming in October include:

  • Following its broadcast run on Bravo, Season 1 of the critically acclaimed thriller KILLING EVE begins streaming on Friday, 5, when all eight episodes drop at once. From BBC America and Sid Gentle Films, the series stars Canada’s own Sandra Oh, in an Emmy®-nominated performance, and Jodie Comer (THE WHITE PRINCESS), telling the story of a psychopathic contract killer (Comer) and the MI5 operative (Oh) tasked with tracking her down. As the two fiercely intelligent women go head to head, they become equally obsessed and entangled with one another in a combination of brutal mischief making, sharp humour, and high-stakes action.
  • All-new programming from SHOWTIME lights up Sundays this month: new episodes of KIDDING, the dark comedy starring Jim Carrey and Judy Greer drop each week, and THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE WILDEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH, the topical and timely weekly political documentary series continues to stream at 10 p.m. ET.
  • On Sunday, Oct. 28 at 9 p.m. ET, SHOWTIME’s hit drama series RAY DONOVAN joins the Sunday night lineup when it returns for Season 6. As the new season begins, Ray (Liev Schreiber) is rebuilding his life both personally and professionally in New York City. After being rescued from a plummet into the East River, a cop named Mac (Domenick Lombardozzi) brings Ray into the fraternity that is the Staten Island Police Department. While exploring this new world of brotherhood and corruption, Ray finds himself once again working for media mogul Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon) who has teamed up with New York City mayoral candidate Anita Novak (Lola Glaudini), a partnership that puts Ray at odds with his new friends in New York.
  • Both seasons of Danny McBride’s VICE PRINCIPALS join CraveTV’s HBO Collection beginning Friday, 19. Created by McBride and Jody Hill (co-creators of HBO’s EASTBOUND & DOWN), the dark comedy series tells the story of a southern suburban high school and the two people who almost run it, the vice principals. McBride and Walton Goggins star as Neal Gamby and Lee Russell, a pair of ambitious administrators waged in an epic power struggle to ascend to the top spot after the long-time principal (Bill Murray) steps down to tend to his ailing wife.
  • Just in time for Close Encounters: The Cinema of Steven Spielberg at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto, CraveTV presents the HBO Documentary SPIELBERG on Friday, 26. Directed and produced by award-winning documentarian Susan Lacy (AMERICAN MASTERS, JANE FONDA IN FIVE ACTS), the documentary pulls back the curtain on Spielberg’s remarkable career and examines his filmography in depth, revealing how his experiences fed his work and changed it over time.
  • As announced earlier this month, CraveTV now offers more than 200 hours of kid’s programming available to stream in two new collections, WOW! Preschool Playdate(targeted at kids aged 0-5) and WOW! World Kids (ages 6 and up). The kid’s collections expand this month with the addition of the following new titles: Seasons 1-2 of MONA THE VAMPIRE and Season 1 of LEAGUE OF SUPER EVIL (October 5), just in time for Halloween; Season 2 of BUSYTOWN MYSTERIES and Season 2 of CLASS OF THE TITANS (October 9); Season 2 of THE ADVENTURES OF PADDINGTON BEAR (October 12); and Seasons 2- 3 of IN THE NIGHT GARDEN and Season 1 of SUPER MARIO BROS. SUPER SHOW! (October 26).
  • On the heels of the recent announcement that Bell Media and VICE have joined forces on a new partnership in Canada, the all-new VICE Collection launches on October 12 with Season 1 of the Emmy-nominated GAYCATION with Ellen Page; Season 1 of MOST EXPENSIVEST, starring Grammy® Award-winner 2 Chainz; Seasons 1 and 2 of F*CK THAT’S DELICIOUS with Action Bronson; Season 3 of KING OF THE ROAD; SLUTEVER, available for the first time in Canada; THE TRIXIE & KATYA SHOW, featuring RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE breakouts Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova; and more.
  • On Wednesday, 17, the day that marijuana is set to become legal in Canada, CraveTV expands its 420 Collection with some of the best pot-addled comedies and docs, anchored by the addition of Season 1 of HBO’s HIGH MAINTENANCE. Originally created by Katja Blichfeld and Ben Sinclair as a web series, the six-episode 30-minute comedy-drama series explores the intriguing and often eccentric private lives of dozens of New Yorkers with one connection: their weed dealer. Other titles in the collection include: comedian Doug Benson’s THE HIGH COURT; buddy comedy WORKAHOLICS; Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer’s critically acclaimed BROAD CITY and TIME TRAVELING BONG; HBO’s BORED TO DEATH; reality-documentary WEED WARS; VICE series BONG APETIT and WEEDIQUETTE; and more.
