The Celebrated RHS Chelsea Flower Show Is Back and Will Honour Nurses For Their Dedication During The Pandemic

BritBox, the subscription streaming service from BBC Studios and ITV, offering the biggest and best selection of unmissable streaming British entertainment in North America is the exclusive home to the BBC’s continued coverage of The RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The array of gardening displays and horticulture excellence will air LIVE at 3:00pm ET daily on BritBox from September 21 to September 25.

Considered the greatest of its kind, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show transforms the Royal Hospital Chelsea grounds into fabulous floral displays attracting 168,000 visitors annually. The event has captured the imagination of world-renowned florists, designers, growers and gardeners at the same location since 1913.

This year for the first time ever, the show will be held in September. It will champion the health and wellbeing benefits of gardening with a couple of show gardens dedicated to the nursing profession and their perseverance during the pandemic. Tributes to the National Health Service and nurses include, “The Florence Nightingale Garden – A Celebration of Modern Day Nursing” and “Finding Our Way – An NHS Tribute Garden” by award-winning designers Robert Myers and Naomi Ferrett-Cohen.

Offering awards such as “Best Show Garden,” “Best Construction Award,” and “Best Exhibit in the Great Pavilion,” the RHS Chelsea Flower show is a must-see competition of cutting-edge design and innovation. Members of The Royal Family frequently visit the event to admire the displays and their prestigious achievements.

Leading up to the world’s greatest flower show, BritBox premiered similar live shows for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival and the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park, in July 2021.

BritBox is also home to a remarkable collection of gardening shows within the Docs & Lifestyle section on the service. The RHS Chelsea Flower Show joins popular shows in the genre such as Gardeners’ World, The Great Chelsea Challenge, Instant Gardener, The Beechgrove Garden and more. Last year, BritBox honoured nurses for International Nurses day, adding Florence Nightingale, Horrible Histories: Formidable Florence Nightingale and Frankie to the service and donating 10,000 subscriptions to healthcare workers in New York.
