Rogers Customers Access a TV Experience Like Never Before with NextBox 3.0

Rogers Communications unveiled today its next generation TV experience with the launch of NextBox 3.0 – the evolution of its in-home video offering that will transform Canadian TV viewing. NextBox 3.0 delivers a superior TV experience that gives viewers unprecedented access to record up to eight HD programs at one time and store up to 240 hours of HD shows and movies.

“With NextBox 3.0 we’re taking entertainment to the next level and giving TV and PVR enthusiasts the best home video experience available on the market today,” said Phil Hartling, senior vice-president, consumer segment, Rogers Communications. “NextBox 3.0 opens up a world of possibilities for the ultimate TV viewer, giving them the freedom to watch and record more hours of their favourite shows and movies.”

NextBox 3.0 will offer customers in Ontario a premium television experience like no other, including:

More simultaneous recording power: Customers can simultaneously record up to 8 HD programs at once. NextBox 3.0 Whole Home PVR service allows customers to watch PVR recordings on 8 boxes at the same time.

Double the storage: Everyone in the family can save their favourite programs for a rainy day with up to 240 hours of HD storage. Viewers can record an entire series of a show and save the episodes for a marathon viewing session without having to worry about running out of PVR space.

Boosted fast-forwarding and channel surfing: Viewers can enjoy more TV on their terms by immersing themselves into episodes with the three minute skip tool and slow motion playback features. The latest upgrades also enable rapid channel changes, with no lag time.

The NextBox 3.0 experience includes whole home PVR capability, caller ID on your TV, a localized weather app and offers customers twice as many movies and shows On Demand compared to Fibe. WithRogers Anyplace TVTM Home Edition, NextBox 3.0 becomes a wireless TV experience allowing viewers to navigate their cable guide, use a virtual remote, set PVR recordings and live stream channels all from a tablet or smartphone.

Rogers customers can also enjoy Rogers Anyplace TV live streaming and On Demand video entertainment across multiple platforms including computers, smartphones, tablets, Xbox 360 gaming system and LG Smart TVs.
