Rogers Transforms the TV Playground with Launch of Kids Zone

Rogers Communications, today puts families first with the launch of Rogers Kids Zone, a go-to hub for premium children’s TV and movies. Available exclusively for Rogers customers at home and on the go, families can now enjoy Canada’s most popular kids’ programming and movies in one secure and easy to use portal available across multiple device screens.

“Kids Zone fits squarely into our TV anywhere strategy, to deliver a one-stop destination available across screens that offers the best and most extensive entertainment on the market,” said David Purdy, senior vice-president, content, Rogers Communications. “Canadian families are fast adopters of tech and children are naturals with second screens such as tablets. We’ve designed Kids Zone to give customers a vast library of the latest children’s programming that is easily accessible on multiple platforms through one cable subscription.”

The family friendly portal delivers a collection of popular kids programming that is not available through over the top services.  Channel highlights include Disney Jr., Treehouse, Family Channel, YTV, Nickelodeon, Teletoon, Duck TV, and Disney XD.  Rogers Kids Zone is available on TVs via Rogers On Demand Ch. 200,RogersAnyplaceTV.com/KidsZone on computers, and on the Rogers Anyplace TV™ application for smartphones, tablets, Xbox 360 gaming systems and LG Smart TVs.

The Rogers Kids Zone is part of the NextBox 3.0 experience; home to double the movies and TV shows On Demand when compared to Fibe™. NextBox 3.0 gives viewers unprecedented access to record up to eight HD programs at one time and one TB of PVR storage capacity. Also, Canadians can discover even more family TV entertainment included in their cable package through the Recommendation App for NextBox. Rogers is the first Canadian cable company to introduce aRecommendation App right on the TV screen that provides entertainment suggestions based on customers’ TV viewing.

To learn more about choosing the right programming and how to watch TV with your children, families are encouraged to visit techessentials.rogers.com; a site developed to help Rogers customers get the most out of their communications services. Parents can read about safe TV viewing tips for families, including how to stay safe online.
