Astral’s popular children’s channel, Disney Junior, will launch today on Shaw Direct, channel 167 Advanced/538 Classic. Dedicated to providing the best in engaging, educational and entertainment-based series and short-form content for younger viewers and their families, Disney Junior’s programming will also be available to Shaw Direct subscribers via Disney Junior OnDemand.

Disney Junior offers exclusive, first-run programs from Disney together with celebrated Canadian series to create an interactive and imaginative environment for preschoolers and their families. The network offers fan favourites including Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Doc McStuffins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Special Agent Oso and Handy Manny, as well asacclaimed Canadian series such as Stella and Sam and Justin Time.
Disney Junior also welcomes Disney’s first young princess with the launch of Sofia the First: Once Upon A Princess, a television movie special debuting Saturday, November 24 at 7 p.m. ET.Following the television movie event, a new Sofia the First series will premiere in early 2013.
