CBC Sports is bringing the ISU WORLD FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2022 to audiences across Canada, offering more than 40 hours of exclusive Canadian coverage across broadcast and streaming platforms. Viewers can watch as events unfold in Montpellier, France from Wednesday, March 23 – Sunday, March 27, with live streams of every event available on the free CBC Gem streaming service, cbcsports.ca/figureskating and the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices. Coverage on ROAD TO THE OLYMPIC GAMES begins on Saturday, March 26 at 2 pm ET with hosts Andi Petrillo and Scott Russell leading the broadcasts. Play-by-play will be provided by CBC Sports Brenda Irving and Olympian and four-time World Champion Kurt Browning will offer analysis alongside renowned coach and choreographer Carol Lane and three-time Olympic medallist Meagan Duhamel. The action continues on Sunday, March 27 at 2 p.m. with the Free Dance program, and picks up again on Saturday, April 2 at 4 p.m. ET with the World Figure Skating Championships Gala.
The final major event of the figure skating season, the ISU WORLD FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2022 takes place in Montpellier, France from Wednesday, March 23 – Sunday, March 27. Skaters will compete for the title of World Champion in men’s singles, women’s singles, pairs and ice dance.
Representing Canada at this year’s competition are: Madeline Schizas in women’s singles; Keegan Messing and Roman Sadovsky in men’s singles; Vanessa James and Eric Radford, and Evelyn Walsh and Trennt Michaud in pairs; and Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Nikolaj Sørensen, Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier, and Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha in ice dance.
Hosted by Olympic Winter Games medallist Dylan Moscovitch and Canadian ice dancer Asher Hill the popular CBC Sports digital series THAT FIGURE SKATING SHOW returns with new episodes following each event. The pair brings their humour and charm to break down skates, provide analysis and chat with special guests from the figure skating community.
