CBC Sports To Provide Extensive Coverage Of The ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating Season, Beginning October 21

CBC Sports is bringing the ISU GRAND PRIX OF FIGURE SKATING to audiences across Canada with live streams of every event from the 2022 season available on the free CBC Gem streaming service, cbcsports.ca and the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices. The Grand Prix season officially kicks off this weekend with the first stop of the circuit, Skate America, taking place in Norwood, MA, USA from Friday, October 21-Sunday, October 23. Events continue on home soil the following weekend with Skate Canada International taking place at the Paramount Centre in Mississauga, ON from Friday, October 28-Sunday, October 30. CBC SPORTS PRESENTS will be live on location to provide broadcast coverage on CBC TV and CBC Gem. For the complete streaming and broadcast schedule, click here.

CBC SPORTS PRESENTS’ coverage of Skate Canada International begins on Saturday, October 29 at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. PT) with the women’s free, men’s short, and free dance programs. Hosts Andi Petrillo and Scott Russell will lead the broadcasts; play-by-play will be provided by CBC Sports’ Brenda Irving; and Olympian and four-time World Champion Kurt Browning will offer analysis alongside renowned coach and choreographer Carol Lane. Three-time Olympic medallist Meagan Duhamel will provide analysis for coverage of the pairs competition. The action continues on Sunday, October 30 at 2 p.m. with the men’s free and pairs free programs, followed by the Exhibition Gala.

The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series consists of six international senior invitational events taking place between October and December. The 2022 season includes: Skate America, October 21-23; Skate Canada International, October 28-30; Grand Prix de France, Nov 4-6; MK John Wilson Trophy, Nov 11-12 ; NHK Trophy, Nov 18-20 and Grand Prix Espoo, Nov 25-27. Skaters are seeded and invited to the six Grand Prix of Figure Skating events based on the results of the previous ISU World Figure Skating Championships.
