Comedians Thomas Leblanc and Tranna Wintour bring listeners an all-new season of CHOSEN FAMILY from CBC Podcasts, starting February 11

Comedians Thomas Leblanc and Tranna Wintour are bringing listeners exactly what the end of the world needs: an all-new season of CHOSEN FAMILY from CBC Podcasts, starting Thursday, February 11, with new episodes released biweekly on CBC Listen or wherever you get your favourite podcasts! Named one of Apple Canada’s best podcasts for two consecutive years, this season promises to be the best one yet.

Chosen Family is a talk show that shines a light on the intersection of art, community and identity, featuring conversations with renowned artists and up-and-coming creators. Since last season, a lot has changed—okay, the whole world has basically been turned upside down—but Thomas and Tranna are determined to meet the moment head on, because if anything can save the world, it’s definitely a podcast. Join our hosts and their fabulous guests as they try to navigate these deeply challenging days and answer some big questions, like what does it mean to be an artist right now? How can we feel a sense of community in isolation? How can marginalized voices be represented and amplified in mainstream media? Does Céline Dion still matter?

The new season of Chosen Family continues the show’s evolution and sees our hosts fully leaning into their Oprah Super Soul groove. When the show debuted in 2017, Thomas and Tranna thought it was a comedy pod… but is comedy even a thing anymore? Being the deeply sensitive souls they are, T and T take everything way too seriously and thrive on deep conversation (ironically, the seriousness with which they treat everything is hilarious). Talking to superstar guests like Margaret Cho, Bob The Drag Queen, and Xavier Dolan, it became clear that Chosen Family is about understanding the connection between the creative process and the healing of trauma. And, subsequently, how we find our “chosen family” through that process. If that sounds too serious, don’t worry, Thomas and Tranna’s signature wit and humour always shine through. Their ability to balance serious issues and irreverent pop culture chat with genuine warmth is what makes Chosen Family a rare gem in the podcast world.

Season three’s illustrious lineup of guests, so far, includes astrologer to the stars, Jessica Lanyadoo, breakthrough musician Backxwash, winner of the 2020 Polaris Prize, Canada Reads winner Samra Habib, and dance music icon, Róisín Murphy. We can’t over-hype this enough!

Chosen Family is a CBC Podcasts production and is available on CBC Listen or wherever you get your podcasts!
