Sportsnet Knows the Way to San Jose: Canada’s Home of Hockey Delivers Exclusive Coverage of the 2019 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend, January 25 & 26

Things are about to heat up in The Golden State as Sportsnet travels to San Jose to deliver wall-to-wall coverage of the 2019 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend, January 25 & 26. Sportsnet’s exclusive English-language Canadian coverage of the NHL All-Star action will be available coast-to-coast on Sportsnet, Sportsnet Radio Network, OMNI Television, Sportsnet NOW and Rogers NHL LIVE. Coverage begins Thursday evening with an all-access pass to the NHL All-Star Media Day presented by adidas, followed Friday night by the fan-favourite 2019 SAP NHL All-Star Skills showcase at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. The weekend’s festivities culminate Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT with the 2019 Honda NHL All-Star Game, set to feature the game’s biggest stars, behind-the-scenes access and never-before-seen broadcast technology (see more details below).

Live from the heart of the action, Sportsnet’s world-class roster of hockey experts will have all the angles covered in California. Hosted by Ron MacLean, Sportsnet’s panel of analysts Elliotte Friedman, Kelly Hrudey and Nick Kypreos will deliver the latest news, insights and analysis live from San Jose’s SAP Center. Veteran play-by-play announcer Jim Hughson will have the All-Star call alongside game analyst Craig Simpson, while Scott Oake and special guest reporter Kevin Bieksa provide exclusive interviews from ice level.

In addition to Sportsnet’s in-depth coverage of the weekend’s festivities, the Hockey Night in Canada: Punjabi Edition broadcast team will also deliver its first-ever NHL All-Star Game broadcast exclusively on OMNI.

Puck and Player Tracking

Continuing its innovative partnership with the NHL, Sportsnet is bringing fans closer to the game they love this All-Star weekend with the next phase in Puck and Player Tracking. Developed by the NHL, the Puck and Player Tracking system tracks every movement of the puck and every player to provide viewers with real-time analytics, such as puck and player speed, distance skated and more.

This weekend marks the first time Canadian viewers will see the broadcast application of Puck and Player Tracking technology in an All-Star Game.
