Adam Asselin-Rioux Joins SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA’s Season 4 Top 22

During last night’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Top 22 Performance show, it was revealed that Moses Layco, a 26-year-old contemporary dancer suffered a shoulder ligament injury during rehearsals and therefore had to withdraw from the competition. MOSES, the first competitor from Manitoba in SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA history, sustained the injury just days before his first scheduled performance on the show. Replacing Moses in the Season 4 Top 22 is Adam Asselin-Rioux, a 21-year-old contemporary dancer from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC, who performed a New Disco routine with partner GEISHA Chin tonight.

“I come out of this situation stronger than ever, and if the opportunity presents itself, you will see my face in the Top 20 again,” said MOSES Layco, former Top 22 competitor. “I leave the competition with a huge drive to continue to live out my dream.”

“When I got the call I screamed so loudly my father came to check on me,” said new Top 22 competitor ADAM Asselin-Rioux. “The news was bittersweet because of MOSES’ unfortunate injury, but I feel honoured to have the chance to prove myself and it feels so amazing to dance on the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA stage.”

“Moses was a big loss, but sadly injuries are a normal part of a dancer’s life,” said Sandra Faire, Executive Producer SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA. “Adam came very close to making the Top 22 and is an amazing dancer. The show will go on!”

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA’s new Top 22 competitor is:

* ADAM Asselin-Rioux (21), a Contemporary dancer from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC. Adam’s love for dance was discovered at the age of 10, and has taken him to countries such as Spain, Mexico and France. With formal training at L’École de danse de Québec in Quebec City, Adam is also trained in contemporary ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap and modern.
