Chief News Anchor Lisa LaFlamme Leads BUDGET 2014 on CTV and CTV News Channel, Tomorrow at 4 p.m. ET

When the Conservative government delivers its 2014 Federal Budget tomorrow, Canadians can turn to CTV News for the most comprehensive live coverage and analysis with BUDGET 2014. Anchored by CTV News chief anchor and senior editor Lisa LaFlamme, this special broadcast will simulcast LIVE across the country at 4 p.m. ET on CTV, CTV News Channel, CTV GO, andCTVNews.ca. And starting at 3:30 p.m. ET, viewers can turn to Canada’s Business News Network (BNN) for its special coverage of the Federal Budget, focusing on what Canada’s business community and investors need to know.

Canadians can turn to BUDGET 2014 for insight and analysis on how the new budget affects families and businesses across the country. Joining LaFlamme from Ottawa are CTV News Ottawa bureau chief Robert Fife and chief political correspondent Craig Oliver, with insight on the political ramifications of the budget’s mandate. From the Toronto studio, CTV News’ chief financial commentator Pattie Lovett-Reid will also provide analysis, along with special commentary from TD Bank Senior Vice President and Chief Economist Craig Alexander from the lockup in Ottawa, and Canadian tax expert Tim Cestnick. Rounding out BUDGET 2014’s special guest lineup are a group of veterans who will examine the budget’s ramifications on those who have served in Canada’s military.

Also on Tuesday, BNN delivers its own special broadcast from 3:30 – 5 p.m. ET. BNN has assembled a panel of top industry specialists across varying disciplines to usher viewers through an insightful and in-depth discussion, including former B.C. Finance Minister and current Chancellor, Simon Fraser University, Carole Taylor; Michael Nobrega, President & CEO, OMERS; Jack Mintz, Director of The School of Public Policy, University of Calgary; Derek Burleton, Deputy Chief Economist, TD Bank; and Dan Kelly, CEO, Canadian Federation of Independent Business, who will offer perspective from small businesses in Canada. Rounding out the special broadcast panel are David Prince, founder and principal, Harbinger Capital Markets Research, with analysis of macroeconomic and market trends; and Peter Drake, Vice President – Retirement and Economic Research, Fidelity Investments, weighing in on how the budget will impact Canada’s senior populations and pension planning.

Following the budget special, BNN’s regularly scheduled HEADLINE WITH HOWARD GREEN kicks off at 5 p.m. ET with a deconstruction of the Federal Budget, welcoming a panel of special guests including John Risley, President & CEO, Clearwater Fine Foods and an outspoken advocate for Eastern Canada; Armine Yalnizyan, Senior Economist with the Centre for Police Alternatives; Dawn Desjardins, Assistant Chief Economist, RBC; Candice Malcolm, Canadian Taxpayers Federation; and Janet Ecker, President & CEO, Toronto Financial Services Alliance and former Ontario Finance Minister.

 

Online, both CTVNews.ca and BNN.ca will live stream Minister Flaherty’s budget reading live from the House of Commons at 4 p.m. ET.
