CTV joins in the Haiti relief initiatives with two specials, CANADA FOR HAITI and HOPE FOR HAITI NOW: A GLOBAL BENEFIT FOR EARTHQUAKE RELIEF.
AMERICAN IDOL continues its search for the next singing superstar, with audition episodes featuring celebrity guest judges, including Canadian rocker Avril Lavigne.
This month also features the return of hit-series THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, all-new episodes of GREY’S ANATOMY, MEDIUM and CSI: MIAMI and the NFL conference championship games.

10 a.m. – MUCHTALKS: HAITI – ONE-HOUR SPECIAL
MUCHTALKS: HAITI features Canadian artists with ties to the troubled country, and lets Canadian viewers know how they can help. MTV Live co-host Nicole Holness, Canadian indie rocker Amy Millan, 4REAL’s Sol Guy and representatives from various NGOs headline the event, sharing their personal stories and looking at what is next for Haiti. ETALK’s Ben Mulroney also joins in studio to discuss what the entertainment industry is doing to help those recovering from the earthquake.
7 p.m. – CANADA FOR HAITI – ONE-HOUR SPECIAL
Hosted by Cheryl Hickey, Ben Mulroney and George Stroumboulopoulos, CANADA FOR HAITI will feature exclusive Canadian content, exploring our country’s close relationship with Haiti in this time of need, and performances from top Canadian musicians.
8 p.m. – HOPE FOR HAITI NOW: A GLOBAL BENEFIT FOR EARTHQUAKE RELIEF – TWO-HOUR TELETHON SPECIAL
In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti, CTV brings Canadian viewers HOPE FOR HAITI NOW: A GLOBAL BENEFIT FOR EARTHQUAKE RELIEF, a special live, two-hour, commercial-free earthquake relief telethon. Hosted by George Clooney in Los Angeles, Wyclef Jean in New York City and CNN’s Anderson Cooper in Haiti, HOPE IN HAITI NOW: A GLOBAL BENEFIT FOR EARTHQUAKE RELIEF features musical performances and celebrity appearances to be announced in the coming days, along with live news reports from CNN. MuchMusic and MTV will also air the two-hour special.
Saturday, January 23
7 p.m. – W5 – “Haiti’s Armageddon” – ALL-NEW EPISODE
Devastating images of the tragedy in Haiti have dominated the media for a week. Always delivering the most current and insightful look at stories making the headlines, W5’s “Haiti’s Armageddon” offers a closer look at the crisis by following Dr. John Yates, a Canadian doctor who spent 33 years rebuilding Haiti. He returns to the island in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake to find the hospital he built severely damaged. W5 goes into the heart of crisis along with the much adored “White Haitian” as he is known locally, to tell the story of one man’s journey of hope in the midst of unspeakable tragedy. In a second story, W5 first broke the news of the Weibo Ludwig story in 1998 and has been following the story ever since. Constantly proving itself as the most-relevant current affairs program in the country, this story by W5’s Paula Todd brings viewers the story behind the headlines and expert insight on a community under siege in northeastern British Columbia.

Jack’s (Matthew Fox) decision to put a plan in action in order to set things right on the island is met with some strong resistance by those close to him. Meanwhile, Locke (Terry O’Quinn) assigns Ben (Michael Emerson) a difficult task.
